Despite all the controversy, this game is amazing! I'm having a blast with it! Last night I finished the World Rally Challenge and the Alsace race, the one that goes from day to night and you have all the fireworks going off on the last lap is so cool! I wrecked twice because I couldn't take my eyes off of it LOL! That might be my favorite café challenge of them all.

Only after they get flack for it, and y'all too quick to forgive lol

It's a live service game, so it's always "hey here's the game let us know what you like and what you hate and we'll change it scenario"

I also remember Halo gettings tons of heat for announcing way before the release date that some modes would come at a later date (Forge and COOP) but in the case of GT7, we should be happy that Sony introduced MTS just after the reviews went out to avoid backlash and before the game was finished.

If Sony really wants to show you that they care then do like EA and remove the MTS that affect gameplay elements.

If nobody complained, Sony would not have done this. See if we can get away with it first, damage done. I won’t be satisfied until they make it offline. They’ve already destroyed GT pretty much, I don’t have much faith.

The required online for single player stuff is the real problem.

Crazy to me that Sony even had the gumption to try to gouge players with MTX after increasing the price of their games to £70/$70. Pure greed.

That's great to hear. Now my only issue is the always online. The fact there was a 30+ hour outage last week. No one was able to continue with their single player career was terrible. They need to sort that out. Where if the server is down or the players internet is down. They can still continue playing single player.

Limiting the fremium currency is super pathetic. Glad Elden Ring pushed this game back a month or two for me.

The changes are good but not great. Still more work to do here for sure (and with the always online requirement).

But this is also why we're right to criticize them, people say we're being unfair criticizing them for the MTX and always online - but the reality is, if we don't criticize situations like this when they occur, they will become the standard going forward.

It should not take backlash. It's some shady greed driven crap they tried to throttle their base for. Polyphony Digital can take their elitist dev and extreme price hike entitlement status and seriously stick it. Not dropping a cent their way this round. I'll end up with a copy of it somehow, but I sure as hell am not going to pay for it. Really don't care if Polyphony Digital is around for another entry after this one. They are not all that anymore. A good outcome, but no reference made to online-only requirements. Plenty of people still play GT4 to this day, but what if that had been online-only? Do you think those servers would still be available today?

Honestly, yelling at game companies when they do wrong is proven to work. Keep it up, gamers.

GT Sport took its time and eventually it became a great edition. I hope its the same for the GT7. More tracks and more races will surely be added over time. Bugs and other tweaks too

They need to add MORE CARS

Always online REQUIREMENT even for single player made this a big nope for me. Why pay $70 for something that will stop working whenever you aren't connected, the servers are down etc. It is guaranteed and planned obsolescence DRM. There was no good reason other than anti-consumer control freak practices. The more that people go for this crap the more they will do like this. Soon everything will require a constant connection leaving out anyone with no connection and will stop working when the servers are shut down. Basically you will never actually own a game again.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
