Say, sometime down the road, FromSoft offers an easy mode that just tunes down the hardness of the combat for those who want to experience the world and the lore. Or even just have the combat just a bit easier; does that change YOUR experience?

I'm a classic CRPG lover who pretty much always plays on the top difficulty setting where one wrong move gets main companions lost forever, but I don't cry over the fact we see the things like "story mode" for those who just want to take in the world and the writing.

Gamers are so uptight and tribalistic. "Either do things the way I want, or you're wrong". Even when it doesn't even affect them.

What grinding? I don't think I have grinded anything so far, the only repetitive thing I've done is going back to a certain spot with lots of root resin every 10 hours or so to restock.

And also removes the essence of what makes the game what it is

Might as well just mod the game and take all the enimies out and use it as a walking/horse riding simulator.

Even though am a pc gamer my self. We are a strange bunch. Can't get a kill in warzone let's use aim bots so we get all the kills.

Find the game to hard? Give all the enimies 1hp and handicap them.

Single and ready to mingle? Nude mods!!!!!

Now getting a solid 144fps? Let's review bomb the game and threaten the Devs lives and family's!!!

Why does it need an easy mode? It's the easiest souls game to date.. stealth mode, open world where you can run around enemies you don't want to deal with, summoning other players is easier than ever.

Ah the mods, it's all good, no need to judge people who just want to explore the world. But the full experience can only be felt by playing it the way miyazaki intended without the mods.

Who are these poor chumps that need this mod?? This game doesn't need an easy mode, and not because it needs to be hard, but because the game isn't hard.

Honestly I don’t care for an “easy mode”. All I would like is higher rune earnings so I don’t HAVE to grind for hours on end in between bosses/areas. Farming litteraly puts me to sleep it’s so repetitive.
And I’d like a quest log. Not something that tells me exactly where to go. Just something to tell me who I’ve spoken to, where that person was, and what that person said. I keep forgetting to write shit down or make notes. So I’m constantly just wandering around having no clue what I’m supposed to be doing or where I should go. So I end up exploring for hours but making no real progress besides leveling up a tiny bit.
And leading into my first point, I played for 5+ hours just exploring because I didn’t know where to go. And in 5 or so hours I earned 15,000 runes. Not even enough to level up once at my current level. Which is still too low to move to new areas as I’m getting one shotted by anything other than the average enemy walking around. I hate farming. And people act like it’s totally okay that it’s completely necessary. It’s not. The game should be hard. But the gameplay should be hard. Playing for 5+ hrs and feeling like I’ve accomplished almost nothing just annoys me. Feels like wasted time.

I don't agree with the criticism of an easy mode mod. It's a freakin mod. You play the game the way you want to. It's a mod. The original game doesn't have an easy mode. There's all kinds of mods made for games. Cheat mods, money mods, etc. Most people don't criticize those mods, because it's been around since modding began and it generally doesn't affect anyone's game besides the people who installed them. One more time... It's a mod. That's why we have mods, to make the modify the game the way YOU want to play it

I get the criticism for people trying to get From software to add an easy mode. F**k that! But please choose your battles. This isn't a hill you want to die on. Again... It's a mod

Honestly sometimes I think from soft devs are a sadistic bunch and actually purposely want to abuse gamers. What I find difficult with souls games is all the secrets, the secrets that give you a little bit more of a chance to survive. The fake walls, the obscure and totally obtuse quest that make zero sense as to how to complete them. I honestly can say I wouldn't have made it far in elden ring if not for the guides and wiki. The secrets and cryptic quest are infuriating and scarier than any boss. If people want to cheat and bypass the BS from soft thinks is fun I get it. They straight be trolling gamers in these games and sometimes it feels downright abusive. I applaude speed runners and people who put in cheat codes to break the abusive nature of this game its good to give as much as you can take. Everyone else who enjoys these kind of games and like it's masochistic nature should not let that be ruined by those who are just not into that part of the game but love everything else.

Weren't people saying it was running poorly on Switch 2 at CES earlier this year? I hope they fix that before release. If they can do 60 fps in handheld mode I might pick it up -- otherwise not interest in playing this game at 30 fps.
