Series S getting a performance mode... better late than never.

Really curious to see what they had to cut down to get it to run 60fps on Series S, given 60fps is limited to 1080p on the far more performant platforms.

I'm still trying to figure out how they're going to get this to run on Switch. It'll have to be a real low res I'd imagine. Maybe FSR can help a bit. I do wish them "good luck".

I never mind being disagreed with, but am always left wondering what is being disagreed with when there's no discussion.

So I'm curious, for anyone who does disagree, what is it you disagree with? I'm not passive aggressively knocking the hardware, just genuinely curious what this game will look like on lower end hardware given how modest the resolution & settings are even on current gen top of the line hardware. (And the good luck thing was just a joke based on DL1s "good night, good luck" tag line).

The game runs it at something close to 720p, from what I'm aware of. Which is completely pathetic in 2022.
It would be utterly pathetic years ago.

This is one of the most unoptimized games I've seen in a while. It's funny how they went from blaming GPUs in consoles to now just straight out admitting that they basically have a garbage engine they chose not to shift from.

There’s people that have tested it on YouTube. 900p and unstable 50-60fps. Would really only work well with vrr

They are not going to get this to run on Switch. The Switch version will just be a cloud version of the game

You're right! I remember now back when they announced the delay initially thinking that a native version seemed crazy, but couldn't figure out why it was being delayed so long after finding out it was a cloud version. Fair enough on that point.

Still curious to see the DF breakdown, if they do one, on what performance mode on the S gives up in order to achieve 60fps.

One thing I started doing a while back was simply waiting at least 6 months for most games before buying because regardless of the budget or the team size or other development resources most games need multiple patches(and many times major ones at that) those of us who used to buy games were still buy games day one are basically testing the game for the developers and providing free feedback

Waiting has benefits.of better price and overa better quality

My friend quit playing it after the first week . Super long prologues in the beginning and so much to do he said he felt it was too much . I may differ from his opinion but he really liked the first game and it’s not a great sign to me he gave up so soon as he hasn’t bought any other games like Elden Ring or Forbidden West .

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
