1UP: Evasive Space Preview

Evasive Space, High Voltage and Yuke's new WiiWare title, looks like a ton of other downloadable space shooters, but it's far from another Geometry Wars clone. For starters, you don't even shoot things -- rather, it's a game of evasion and speed. As Konki, an intergalactic guardian in a compact rocket ship, you roam the planets to collect Constellation Stones stolen by the nefarious Dr. Dark Matter. In most of the planetary levels, you have to navigate a maze and get to the goal, usually either under a set amount of time or by meeting other conditions.

Mygamer: Evasive Space Review

Mygamer writes: "From the game's screenshots and initial first impression, it is not hard to mistake Evasive Space as another classic shooter. This is definitely not the case as avoiding obstacles and reaching the finish line before time runs out is the basis of gameplay. A game like this can only be created using the Wii's unique controller, but this style of gameplay really could have been done with an analog stick. Unfortunately, the loose play control, cheap level design, unavoidable enemies, and a terrible in-game timer really make the cost of 1000 Wii Points unjustifiable".
