Elden Ring Day One Update Patch Notes and Details Listed

Here are the complete details on the Elden Ring Day One update 1.02 and 1.01 patch notes, which MP1st has gotten via the review copy of the game.

proudly_X1541d ago

Must there always be a day one patch?

Welshy1541d ago

Yes, because even after a game has gone gold they continue to bug fix until launch.

The problem is when the 1.0 version on the disc is a total POS and requires massive updates to even function as intended.

franwex1541d ago

Sometimes the day one patch is to unlock the game for digital pre orders. Like in Pokémon emerald and pearl remakes.

But I get what you mean, and yeah. It seems like it.

northpaws1541d ago

There is nothing wrong with day one patch. There are ALWAYS things that you can improve from "gone gold" to "launch".

excaliburps1540d ago

This. I'd rather we get it than be left with a buggy game. In the past, devs couldn't fix any game-breaking glitches or other stuff, and we've gone beyond that.

CobraKai1540d ago (Edited 1540d ago )

I like it when they ways to improve a game even further, like Ratchet and Clank where they added that 60fps RT mode.

Cernunnos1541d ago

Unless you think developers should do nothing for the 3-4 weeks that passes by between a game going "gold" and release. Not having a day 1 patch would be a waste of time and resources. The problem modern gaming is facing is that a lot of companies overestimate how much they can do in that short period of time, and not the practice of a day1 patch in itself.

Rebel_Scum1540d ago

I'd take that over nothing and game breaking bugs

proudly_X1540d ago

Why the lame disagrees ?

I understand better now. Thanks pals

Vithar1540d ago

this is N4G, don't worry about disagrees lol

Double_O_Revan1540d ago

I understood your point. I hate the need of them too. Sadly, no game is ever finished out the door any more. There always something else to fix. It's annoying, yes. But that also means we no longer end up with bugs that never get fixed, we'll, SHOULD mean.

MajorLazer1540d ago

It's only 4.4GB too so nothing like what some lazy devs do by releasing a mess at launch and 'fixing' it with a huge patch day one. My copy arrived an hour ago 🥳🥳🥳

Smok911540d ago

Yeah unfortunately they continue to try and improve the game. Sucks I know.

EvertonFC1540d ago

Yes cause they still work on it when it's gone gold and making the discs

hahaha probably sealing those soul farming glitches, can’t wait till midnight!

John_McClane1540d ago

According to some news sites there is a problem hitting 60 fps on Xbox series X and PS5.

Silly gameAr1540d ago

Not much longer now.Gotta finish the game I'm in the middle of now before I start Elden Ring, but I'm looking forward to it.

Dirty_Lemons1540d ago

I feel you man. I'm currently juggling my next gen Cyberpunk run through, Sekiro run through, Demon's Souls, Legends Arceus and Dying Light 2. None of short games either, hope I can just sink into Elden Ring and enjoy it. Too many games to choose from actually feels overwhelming...First world problems I know 😁

Father__Merrin1540d ago

How has it got 10's when it's got terrible performance

Chriswynnetbh1540d ago

BotW is a dumpster fire in terms of performance and it didn't stop anyone from giving that 10s

why is that dumb? It's the same price everywhere else.

repsahj35d ago

Because it's Nintendo. Post negative first before analizing.

LiViNgLeGaCY34d ago

Because this is the ONLY version you can buy on the S2, correct? I don't think you can buy just the game for $60 like the other platforms. And if I'm wrong about this, then I take it back.

LiViNgLeGaCY34d ago

@repsahj - Dude, shut up. I like Nintendo a lot, actually. I just want the option to get the base game for $60 WITHOUT the DLC. I've done plenty of "analyzing".

Neonridr35d ago

Before anyone complains, this is the same price on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam. It comes with the Game and the DLC.

Elda35d ago

The game is $40 & the expansion is $40 so the price is right.

VersusDMC35d ago

The standard edition physical should have been 40 then with the expansion seperate. Why normalize 80 dollar games? Specially ports of old games.

If people accept this might as well make physical 80 dollar deluxe versions only.

repsahj35d ago

This $80 version is also available on PS5 and XSX.

VersusDMC34d ago

@repsahj

The ps5 has the standard version and the 80$ version so it gives you the choice...on switch 2 physical you can only buy the 80 dollar version.

I guess since they got the data that less than half of elden ring players beat the game and would probably not buy the DLC, they decided to just not make it an option and charge more...

GotGame81834d ago

Like it or not, the vast majority of game sales are digital. Just like movies, and music. At least Gamekey cards are shareable and you can sell them.
