Warhammer 3 Optimization Guide for Best Performance and Visual Quality

BLG writes: "Total War: Warhammer 3 is finally out and the reception has been pretty mixed so far. A good chunk of players aren’t happy with some of the new factions and mechanics but the main point of contention is definitely the performance issues. While the game is running better than its predecessor in some respects, the Warhammer 3 optimization is overall less than ideal. Let's fix that."

A 970 4gb is flirting with low-end gpu specs for this one.

FWIW, those fps hits might be reduced further by turning down the lighting.

Minimoth1513d ago

One of the main reasons why I decided to put this together was to show that you can get decent performance and decent visuals even with modest hardware. I did mention the lighting.

Atom6661513d ago

Looked like you still had lighting on high in performance setup but it might just be that your pics got mixed.

Minimoth1513d ago

Ah, you know what? You're right, I only turned the lighting off for one of the configurations. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll need to go back and fix that.

All good- I appreciate the time you put into the article. These are helpful for a lot of people (I only upgraded from a 980 last year myself). I still found myself spending an hour+ tweaking settings this weekend, though.

I'm pleased as punch for Total War fans who wanted another Medieval. I wanted Empire 2 but Creative Assembly listened to their fans at least

LostPotato132d ago

Ha.....listened to their fans that's some bull-crap. Ever since Sega bought them they turned the ip into a dlc milking simulator. They even remove most blood and gore as dlc just to get a better PEGI rating.

Looking forward to the announcement of another game so they can milk me for another 100 DLCs.

anast179d ago

I still play Medieval II. I'd rather donate to the modders than get bent over with DLC.

TheColbertinator179d ago

Are they deaf or blind or both? Empire Total War 2 or Medieval 3 instead

SEGA said they were all about multiplatform, Still waiting for Total War to arrive on consoles and don't give me any crap about only being able to use a mouse with it either. That myth has been blown out the water all the way back to Herzog Zwei and Dune 2 on the Mega Drive.

Abriael524d ago

... or just get a PC. Total War would be crap on consoles.

waytoobad522d ago

Just like its consoles, they are destined to fail with their recent politics.
