TGR presents the 2008 New Console Buyer's Guide, with 5 must-have exclusive retail titles for each of the current-gen consoles as well as 5 games available on multiple consoles that are in need of your immediate attention.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD have been delisted from digital stores without warning.
Stupid headline. Should state that they are being updated or discontinued. This makes the crazy people that only read headlines think it some kind of conspiracy to take away peoples already purchased games.
If you want to all of a sudden own them now and haven't played them yet because a remastered is coming out, shame on you. I can't believe people are complaining about this 15 years later when it was bound to happen anyway. "A new remaster is out, quick, I'd better buy the original from the shop."
Gamers: "Physical? who needs physical? everyone knows that digital online games are the future. stop living in the past. we don't need no stinking disc drive"
Same gamers: "How dare the delist a digital game that I own!!!!"
The gaming industry moves at such a pace that it’s not surprising we’ve seen countless franchises fall into obscurity over the years.
There is a rumour that Driver 1 & 2 remasters will be released for Switch and presumably for other systems as well.

Not sure however whether this results into new games in the near future.
Ninja Gaiden? Splinter Cell? Tenchu? Virtua Fighter? Killer Instinct? Killzone?

It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
I can't wait to grab one of these things. MGS4 and LBP are tops on my list.
Resistance 2's massive multiplayer always interested me (I used to love playing 150 player battles in Joint Operations). But I do like a little bit of good old single player to go along with that and it seems it didn't deliver there. MGS4 is another draw, but I just feel there is not enough on the console to get one.
RPG Fans should also get Valkyria Chronicles. Great RPG
all you need is uncharted
The ps3 is the only console you will need this gen. Some great games to pickup if your a brand new ps3 owner would be Resistance 2,MGS4,LittleBigPlanet,Unchart ed:Drake's Fortune and SOCOM:Confrontation. That should keep you busy until next year when Killzone 2 drops in Febuary and quite possibly GOW III also. But whatever you do,please don't pick up an Xbox 360,that console has no future.
