Atomic Heart: Release Window Revealed + New Developer Q&A

Atomic Heart, the mysterious first-person shooter from developer Mundfish that's vaguely reminiscent of BioShock (in a good way), has cheekily revealed its release window. At the end of the new trailer, the release window is revealed to be sometime in the final four months of 2022, as the trailer reveals "#######ber 2022," thus narrowing it to September, October, November, or December (and perhaps giving the Mundfish team some wiggle room if they're aiming for one of those earlier "-mber" months and end up needing to polish the game a bit longer). Whenever it drops, Atomic Heart will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Outstanding!!
Atomic Heart is one of the few..few games that look like a current-gen production to me.

That AND I love the overall style including the enemy designs. Really unique looking stuff and if they can pull off the gameplay I think they'll have a winner on their hands.

Gut feeling is that the gameplay will be good, the boss fight footage suggests to me that they've got a fairly solid setup. If they can pull off something as unique as this with good gameplay it'll be a classic potentially.

Every time I see this game it somehow seems to get crazier in the worst way, while also looking absolutely impressive in the best way possible.

Looks awesome, it has from the first trailer ages ago. I hope it lives up to appearances, I thought they'd been having difficulties but it doesn't look like it.

Looks absolutely bananas and I'm all about it. Fingers crossed it delivers.

10 million players for Atomic Heart, nice!

Does this mean we might see an Atomic Heart 2? Crispy Critters!

NovoSlev344d ago

They're launching a new publishing label, Mundfish Powerhouse, but I wouldn't be shocked if they'll be using that to self-publish Atomic Heart 2 - hopefully!

It's on GP. 10 million players and a made another studio? So Did Gamepass help or contribute in making another studio for them? I know its on other platforms which also helped their new venture.

Boy_the_CowRoy342d ago

10 million? Hard to believe for a game with only 400 people playing this game currently and a all time peak of only 37k on PC. Is the difference in popularity of this game on console and PC really that big?

Well done Mundfish, I had a fun time with this game... apart from the 2nd dlc. Great world building, a solid storyline and Bioshock style gameplay. Looking forward to what comes next.

I started playing the game on Gamepass a while back. I stopped because it wasn't my cup of tea.

I am glad they were able to build a fan base for this game.
