this made my monday morning. a simple chatroom interface (that doesnt even work) will sell consoles... sure... LOL!!

it's for socialising. i've made more friends in Home than i have in one year. it's easy because you'll be playing bowling and next thing you know, you're talking to the guy(s).. and yeah.. there are pretty funny guys out there with a good sense of humour.

if you love solitude or are an anti-social, then Home is NOT for you. if you love killing people online, Home is probably not for you. don't expect people to add you as friends while you're dancing. lol.

anyway, yeah.. sony will make money... uncharted room shows what we can get in future. soon there'll be third party game rooms. in future, words like "Visit us at Home" for every game ads will be a common scene. now that's something.

I don't think Home can be a system seller, but it can be a decisive feature, like "integrated Wi-Fi", "BluRay player" or "integrated BlueTooth".

example for you. The inability it seems to mute people (surprisingly). I was trying to watch the twight trailer the other night as I still haven't seen it, and all I could hear was some idiot playing Linkin park all the way through. But that was nothing compared to all the racism on there.
I decided then and there to only use my PS3 for exclusives and as a blu-ray player. You get twats on XBL but at least you can mute them

Home will be more of a system seller when they have some more interesting things to do in it.

There's not a massive amount in there at the moment which is a shame. And obviously the other problem is the inability to connect a lot of the time.

whats with charging for absolutely EVERYTHING for your house on home? Ok its only a $ or so but its a slippery slope. And I know that MS would take the same route but I would be moaning about that as well!

HOME is absolutely fantastic!!! It has bad server issuea atm but after all its a beta so what do you expect but even with those problems I happily spend up to 30 mins trying to log on because once your on it is an amazing experience. I spent 15 hours non stop on it yesterday, I cant belive something can hold my interest for that long. As soon as it begins to evolve its going to be utterly breathtaking. Sure some people arent going to like it because of the fact you dont get to shoot anyone, but for the millions of people who like social networking and chatting this is exactly what there looking for. Ive talked to people on there who have hardley played a game in ther lives but are loving HOME. This is definitly going to be a massive success.

I can't see it being a (major) system seller.

Sony would need to market the hell out of Home for it to gain any sort of visibility to the non-PS3 owning world. And considering how poorly they've marketed their AAA titles this year, I can't see that happening.

Home needs an identity, as at the moment I don't really think many people (possibly even Sony) know what it is or what it does, or what it will grow in to.

Ask 10 people what Home is, and they may all give a different answer - sometimes that's a good thing, but in the case of trying to sell PS3's off the back of Home I think that would be too broad a message.

i hope so.

All we (PS3 fans) need to do is pass the message on.

Home is an interesting diversion, NOT a system-seller. If people just want a virtual world to connect and chat, they can use second life, which is also free, rather than pay $400+ for almost the same experience.

Well, if MGS4/LBP/RESISTANCE didn't move consoles, I doubt that a Homo meeting square will...oh wait, that seems more in tune with the target audience.
