Would love to go through this again at 60FPS, makes all the difference.

camel_toad1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

I played it but didn't finish it just due to open world fatigue. I definitely had fun up until the onset of the fatigue suddenly hit.

I've been playing through odyssey lately and having a lot of mindless fun with it. I just have not been able to get into Valhalla.

Meanwhile, Rockstar seem adamant on never patching RDR2 to 60fps on consoles unless it involves shaking people for money like they're about to do with the re-release of GTA5.

G4M3R_4_L1F31487d ago

Yea you right that's why I waited until the game to release on Pc to purchase it and wouldn't have to pay twice

iplay1up21486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

LOL. If you own the game for Xbox consoles there is no need to buy it twice if you bought it for XB1. The upgrades are free, for Series consoles. If you own the game for PS4, and want to upgrade to the PS5 version it will cost less than $10.

It has been the same for most cross gen games! Why do you think we have to buy it again?🙄

G4M3R_4_L1F31486d ago

@iplay was referring to RDR2 ITS NOT LIKELY ROCKSTAR WILL RELEASE A FREE PATCH FOR XBOX SERIES X OR PS5 MOST LIKELY A PAID REMASTER

I think origins was the best and most beautiful of the series. Exploring Egypt never gets old.

GaboonViper1487d ago

I love Egypt and its myth, hoping God of War does that next.

Bathory6661486d ago

Me too. Such a great setting. Tomb raider last revelation got me hooked.

It's good they started with the most important game first AC Odyssey for 60fps. Now they can work on the rest of the ubisoft library

I've Been Replaying Assassin's Creed Origins, And It's Reminded Me What Shadows Is Sorely Lacking

It took going back to a much older game to realise just how empty Assassin's Creed Shadows feels.

"I've never thought feudal Japan would be a good Assassin's Creed setting. Give me 1960s southern England with mods and rockers."

Aaaaaaand that's where I stopped reading.

Terry_B235d ago

Never read anything on that website.

chicken_in_the_corn235d ago

I agree with the first part of their statement. Japan is so overused and it wasn't particularly interesting in Shadows. Now that it's been done, they can do something better.

isarai233d ago

Tf? Almost had an aneurysm at the thought of that concept, like what?

And shadows reminds me of something origins is lacking. Virtually every game is lacking something. It is because it is lacking, that it has what it isnt. Funny dichotomy that…

anast235d ago

Origins is a beautiful game made by talented people that got turned into a brutal level-gate fest by the CEOs.

PRIMORDUS235d ago

There are only a few Assassin's Creed games I played. Original, The Ezio Collection, and what I think is probably the best in the series Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the DLC. I'm done with the series, it's the same shit.

isarai233d ago (Edited 233d ago )

Same, enjoyed 1, looooved the ezio trilogy, and 4 was peak, everything after that just sucked. Unity was a great direction but the bugs and how long it took to fix killed it, best parkour system in the series tho

AC Origins is the last great Ubisoft game. Period. This game show how great the Ubisoft story writing once was. Also the meticulous research Ubisoft did in the field of Egyptology. Ubisoft was so pride of their research that it made a separate Touring mode just to showcase all of their study.

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden986d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar986d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter986d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

TheEnigma313986d ago (Edited 986d ago )

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

HellspawnPR1981986d ago

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman986d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.
