From PS Blog: "The Forbidden West is vast and deadly, filled with ancient ruins, awe-inspiring machines, and hidden threats. Surrounded by danger, its human inhabitants need places to train, rest, and improve their gear. The game’s settlements form these sanctuaries, and they are just as vital to Aloy as they are to the tribes that live in them.
The living world in these settlements is a complex character of its own. Every detail establishes credibility, creating an authentic environment through visual storytelling. For example, the Nora live in relative solitude in the isolated valley of the Sacred Land, making it difficult for them to communicate with the outside world. As a result, they are less technologically advanced than other tribes, and more wary of outsiders. Their settlements are made of wood and rope, featuring minimal furnishings other than what is needed for daily life. Food and resources are obtained through hunting and gathering, so there’ll be pelts, baskets, or sheaths full of arrows lying around. All the objects and people within such a settlement feel like they belong, and more so: like they’ve always been there."

It has been reported that PlayStation's Horizon series, which began in 2017 with Zero Dawn, has now passed 40 million in sales.
Spread across two main entries of the franchise, it just is a very respectable success, isn't it.
Although I personally didn't click with the Horizon games, I can a) clearly see the appeal of it. From art direction and technical brilliance.
And b) - I am so happy for Guerilla Games that they've created an IP that's finally been giving financial success back to them and SIE.
Joining the company's club of tens of millions of copies being sold like Spiderman, God of War or The Last of Us did.
All "Big Five" studios at Playstation are on par. Which is just great and hopefully just contributes to a healthy work environment between all of them.
It's a great series but the 2nd game just went over lard with some nonsense story decisions. Hopefully the 3rd game comes full circle and gives the lone tike fans a great end to the story. 1st game is the best and 2nd is very good. It's the same writer who wrote fallout new Vegas so I have high hopes for a strong finish
Honestly I'm a huge fan of the franchise so i'm glad to see the success. I feel like the games and IP get a lot of unwarranted stick.

Featuring characters from The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West, and more.
yeah, they're gonna overprice it so only 0.5% of the playerbase can buy it. The spiderman packs cost like 650 for 12 packs or something, on top of spiderman not fitting into mtg at all. Most of current PS characters don't fit either.

As part of Sony’s legal assault on Tencent’s rip-off Light of Motiram title, the company’s revealed that Horizon’s franchise sales have topped 38 million units worldwide.
We last got word of the Guerrilla series’ commercial performance in April 2023, when the platform holder confirmed that the franchise had sold through 32.7 million units. This updated number means it’s added another five million units to its tally in the two years since.
and people wonder why sony wants to do a multiplayer title and released a lego game. the franchise is massive.
Sounds incredible. I remember being struck by the details Horizon Zero Dawn. Little things you could easily miss, like ants on a tree you're using as cover.
Honestly, between this and GOW Ragnarok, we've got so much awesomeness in the near future, it's gonna feel like Christmas for months.
This sounds like the next natural step in open-world games. A large part of the appeal for me personally comes from exploring the world.
Once you clear out an outpost in Ghost of Tsushima, there is a little cutscene with all the people coming back and it was a really small thing but it added a lot for me.
I feel like sometimes people tend to just rush towards that marker on the map and forget to actually enjoy the game.
This game is going to be so amazing. Day One!
2022 is right around the corner....a year looking to be chock full of gaming goodness. It. Will. Be. Glorious!
