Battlefield 2042 is off to a rocky start, but could the game's reception have been warmer if there was a campaign that built upon the story of the No-Pats?

Several PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles, including Battlefield 2042, Forspoken, and Sonic Frontiers, will depart the subscription catalog on December 16.

Thanks to Battlefield 6 rewards tied to BF2042's free Battle Pass, it has driven sales up to almost 500K in just a week.
Ugh 😒 not the right message to send to EA, it's just going to feed their greed keep them incredibly out of touch

In a surprising turn of events, the worst-rated Battlefield game has now overtaken the Call of Duty HQ app in terms of player count.
A) misleading
B) no shortage of players on either game
C) doesn't make either game better or worse. Just play the one you like
Played BF2042 when it came out. Thought it was trash. Played it now after BF6 beta, and they have made a ton of fixes to it. Now its really good.
CoD will still be popular as ever. 2042 is just scratching the itch of folks who want more BF after playing the beta.
This happens all the time. Look at Fallout76 after the show came out….
It would be interesting to see what the player base for COD would look like right now if they also made BO6 3.99 on Steam.
I've always enjoys Battlefields campaigns, it's definitely a miss
Probably wouldn't have been a big issue, if the multiplayer wasn't so half-assed. The narrative from Dice was, that they wouldn't put in a single player, because it would allow them focus on what they did best, a.k.a. the online components.
Based on what came out though, they apparently have no skills in either any longer. That's why people got pi***d off would be my wager
If they weren’t busy making a campaign WTF were they busy doing???
The game at the moment is basically a single fan project. It really is shocking that they claim every member of DICE across all regions and EA’s other MP focused devs have all been focused on this all at once for over a year. There’s literally about 3 new levels 8 skins and about 6 guns. Everything else is rehashed.
The fact it doesn’t even have a scoreboard or visual firing mode indicator is just embarrassing. If it wasn’t for being in the alpha and beta I would of said the UI was put in last min in the final few days before launch.
Then they’re charging full price….. Full price!!!!
If this isn’t some ploy to gauge exactly how much of a piss take they can make before a sever backlash. Then I’ll eat my hat!
It's the fact it's a premium priced game, has removed the campaign entirely, and still doesnt offer a fully fleshed online experience out of the gate.
I personally never played any BF campaign so for me, no. But I'm not spending $70 on the Series X version due to all the bugs and issues at launch. I'll probably wait for a sale
