Travis Bruno from Capsule Computers writes:
"One thing that FromSoftware has always excelled at was creating a path for players to travel through, battling their way through foes or running from them in search of the next safe area in an attempt to move forward. As such when it was revealed that Elden Ring would be moving away from the more linear design and instead embrace an open world for players to explore and fight in, many wondered just what to expect and the Closed Network Test that was held recently by Bandai Namco focused almost entirely on showing off that even though the world might be far more open than before and plenty of quality of life changes have been made, those familiar with FromSoftware’s Dark Souls games will still feel right at home."

With the 2025 Wccftech Awards GOTY, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 surpassed Elden Ring as the most awarded game of all time.

Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has overtaken FromSoftware's Elden Ring as the most awarded Game of the Year of all time.
Awesome! Well deserved for this masterpiece and easily the best game of last year in my opinion. Also the soundtrack is beyond incredible and I find myself listening to it often ever since playing the game.
It definitely had my vote for best game. What a moving story and wonderful voice cast. Seriously a joy to have been able to enjoy this game.
Turns out that making a game with love and just making it great is all you need. Especially implementing some of gamings greatest mechanics that were once loved but forgotten. Sandfall deserves it.
A new Inographic has been revealed detailing player tendencies.
