Heavy Rain will work well with quick time events since it is story driven. Ninja blade will have more trouble since it is linear action driven. You will have to revisit the same quick time events every time you replay the game in Ninja (same boss fight). Heavy Rain won't have that trouble b/c you can avoid or situate the encounter differently.

@below: it isn't the same if you aren't required to engage the encounter. Ninja's quicktime is mandatory and same actions everytime. Heavy Rain's is not. Hence the differentiation. Look at the Heavy rain demo. The girl does not have to get caught and can sneak out. Also depending on where she is caught, her quicktime event can vary extremely. She can pick up any number of items, move into any number of rooms, and perform quicktime actions dependent upon where she is located.

These are NOT the same quicktime events you and mr above are implying. More like Ninja Blade's first gen GOW attempt at it vs. Heavy Rain's own 2nd or 3rd gen take on it. If you miss Ninja Blade's quicktime sequence you either die or replay the same sequence again.

From what i've read in the interviews, Heavy Rain's won't even be sequenced and will be heavily influenced on psychological situation button presses that will force players to hit or miss and still playthrough. If you miss, you don't replay (unless u restart). A number of scenarios play out like:

1) You don't die and you find another situation to defeat the "enemy"
a) Further situation branching occurs depending how he is defeated
2) You don't die and you don't defeat the enemy and go onto a branched storyline
3) You don't die but you lose character control (b/c he/she gets locked and another story branch opens to 'rescue' him/her *hypothetical)
4) You die and the story perspective changes to a different character.
5) You die and your enemy dies as well, forming a new story branch.

Now there are a few 'hypotheticals' in my list... but I believe that many of these ideas are being explored by david cage's script.

A quicktime event is a quicktime event no matter how you try to spin it.

See, I can do a QTE in an adventure game. But in an action game, where I'm (presumably) button-mashing? No thank you, The Force Unleashed, God of War, etc.

Mass Effect 2 is definitely at the top of my list as well. I want a new Crackdown too. MS needs to make that happen.

They released a book, Mass Effect Accession, that continues the story of Mass Effect and leads to Mass Effect 2. It's done by the same guy that did the story from the game. He also did a prequel that lead to the first Mass Effect

It's past it's prime, and its full of past differentiations.

And the PS3 is that child actor that never made success.

I always felt that Tenchu 2 was the superior game. I feel like WoH just failed to move the series forward and was more of a Tenchu 1.02, minus the awesome sandbox level design. It totally missed the boat on all the advancements that Tenchu 2 brought to the table.
