Psxextreme: I remember first seeing the original Twisted Metal on my friend's PlayStation way back when, and I distinctly recall the words that spilled from my mouth: "holy crap, what is this?!" Then I fell in love all over again with Twisted Metal 2 - still one of my favorite games ever, and I still play it - and I knew right then I'd be a TM fan for life. ...or so I thought. 989 Studios took over for TM3 and TM4, both of which were colossal disappointments in my opinion, and I gave the franchise up for lost. Then, Jaffe and the boys returned for Twisted Metal: Black on the PS2, which instantly resurrected my faith.
Twisted Metal is getting an interesting promotion at San Diego Comic-Con.

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try
Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now
Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.
Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)
But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.
Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.
Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.
Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series
TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.
Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.
I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.
Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.
Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.

I loved TM 1 and 2!!! Black was sweet too. We are seriously lacking car fighting games. This would be a system seller!!!!!!
because its a proven franchise that will get more PS1 and PS2 owners especially to migrate. People should never underestimate the selling power of proven franchise. SOCOM conv for example despite its issues sold very well in NA.
and V8, i don't know which I liked more. Hopefully both have a new game come out.
Twisted Metal Black was my favorite. The only reason why I didn't buy Twisted Metal Head On for the PS2 is because it just didn't have the same "dark" and "gritty" look/feel that TM: Black had, and Head On just seemed a lot more cartoony to me.
And I did actually like Twisted Metal 3 even though so many people seemed to hate it... Twisted Metal 4 for me was "o.k." but it's probably my least favorite in the series, however, I loved using Calypso's special attack in TM4... shooting that huge Nuke Missle off the back of his truck and detonating it was so awesome.
To compete with Twisted Metal on PS3, I want Activision to come out with another Vigilante 8 game because a sequel to Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense is LONG overdue and the Vigilante 8 series is yet another one of my favorite car combat games that I want to see come back.
