THE LONG RUN IS WHAT MATTERS look the whole world excpet UK and some of the US is starting to pick up on PS3 adn it came out a year later i mean look at PS3 against 360 sales compared to original Xbox against the PS2. PS3 is pretty far ahead of where the original xbox was in this similar type of situation.

Everyone here knows i love Sony and PS3 BUT since price cut 360 have been selling way more than PS3 through most of EU nations. And guess who buys them? 13-16 year olds. Still sale is a sale. PS3 is amazing machine but double the price of premium 360 and kids can not that afford not in this hard times, i know some will disagree with me for saying the truth but better be aware of this than just being arrogant in thinking nothing can hurt Sony in EU.

Agree with you for the most part but the real deal about the 360 here is that can be modded. The psp sold tons here for the same reason but who buys the games?

'On-topic': this represents whats going on in pretty much all of Europe...here in Portugal the PS3 is the biggest selling console (even outselling the Wii), despite being really expensive.

The UK is the exception in Europe...doesn't really surprise me though with the way most of them (when playing online on the PSN) act like they are American (they must think its cool or something), so buying an American made console comes off as something natural for them I guess.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
