When OXM last saw the hero of PC classic Wolfenstein 3D (1992) and Xbox hit Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War (2003), he'd just demolished the Axis' Ubersoldaten program and defeated reincarnated ruler Heinrich I. The series' newest entry, simply dubbed Wolfenstein, picks up from the end of that second game. It's 1943 - the height of World War II - and "while [you've dealt] the Nazi occult war machine a crippling blow…it wasn't stopped dead in its tracks," says Eric Biessman, the game's creative director. "The Nazis are moving forward in their quest for world domination, and they're experimenting and exploring new ideas." As part of their evil research, they've uncovered an inter-dimensional energy source called Black Sun, and needless to say, you're sent in to stop their nefarious plans.

Definitely a good game and loved the art style. My daughter watched me play it when she was 4 years old. I’ll have to replay it with her someday now that she’s older. It’s crazy it’s been around 11 years.
I was thinking of pulling out my PS3 super slim this winter to replay Rain, and try to tackle some of the backlog I acquired.
I love Enslaved such a sleeper hit, Asuras Wrath a very good game I still own, and I wish EA would put out a new Dante's Inferno another game I enjoyed. I never heard of the Rain game I might have to try it out might give Ebay a snoop or two.

Sometimes, you want a relatable villain who makes you question your own morality. Other times, you want Frau Engel.
It got old tbh. Machine needed a break from the IP. Indie is a good reprieve.

I really wish they'd remake Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the ground up. Easily the best of them all.
