Thomas Mcdermott writes "Slow and steady may very well win you a metaphorical race, but in reality that rather hairy tale is very much at the core of the biggest problem Need for Speed: Undercover has. Aside from the spectacular, rather abrupt opening, a significant portion of the first half of the game borders very close to monotony. The AI of the other drivers do their utmost to let you win, the tracks lack bends, are devoid of any remarkable scenery, and the cars available offer no sense of speed.
It is not until you get past this lacklustre start to the game, totalling around 4 or so hours, that you get to the good stuff. This 'good stuff' is indeed very fun to play, with track layouts getting much more exciting the further you get. Additionally, two new sections of the city open up for later on in the game, which are also much more interesting and exciting to drive around. Tons of supercars are also available to buy once you save up the cash, with even the fabled Bugatti Veyron, a car which can make Jeremy Clarkson make a funny face, making a appearance later in the game. The differing selection of events available helps keep you interested, with a vast amount of racing events (including head-to-head races), time-trial events and pursuit (you vs cops) events helping to keep things varied with 100+ mottled across the city map to select."

EA has announced that Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed, and Need for Speed The Run will be removed from digital storefronts beginning today, May 31.
From a preservation standpoint, this is the one thing I hate about digital games. And things will get much worse if game streaming becomes the norm.
NFS Undercover, Carbon,Prostreets, Rivals, 2015 Reboot, Payback , 2012 Mostwanted was no good, far as I'm concerned they can remove Heat too . it doesn't matter anymore if Ea remove them they "All" crap.
Ea went down hill after Blackbox studio left.
Ghost did not improved NFS , Criterion did nothing better and here they are back to screw NFS again. 2022 will be another flop as the first title they made (Burnout for Speed)
I own some of these games does that mean I can no longer download them? Or just purchase?

Paul writes: "Without further ado, here is my list of the best and worst Need For Speed games in the history of the world! I'll run worst to best, so if you want to know which is the best ever Need for Speed game, you’ll have to read on."
Most wanted 2012 imo was awful, on PS3 the graphics are dreadful, and the crash cam was very annoying. Rival is the worst imo, hated that game. My favourite is Hot Pursuit, great game. Also Shift 1&2 are really good.
High Stakes will always be my favorite. Great cars, great music, and you could see through the windows which was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Best of all it was ricer-free.
Lame. The list doesn't even include any of the originals. NFS 1 and NFS hot Pursuit 1998. Must be a youngster who created the list.
From my personal experience NFS I personally don't like.......
The Worst : Underground 2 , Carbon, Prostreets, Undercover, Porche unleashed, Nitro, NFS World, 2012 Mostwanted, Rivals, 2015 Reboot last but not least Paycrap.
Best NFS I personally like :
All ps1 NFS : HighStakes (the best) including NFS 3 Hotpursuit , ps2 Hotpursuit 2 (Excellent game ) ..Underground ( Best so far)
2005 Mostwanted ( Excellent game) Shift 1/2 (Spectacular) remind me of GT , 2010 Hotpursuit Great game but race Waaaaaaay to long in my personal opinion . Last but not least The Run . these are my favorite NFS titles .
After The Run in my personal opinion NFS went down hill fast with Open world mapping crap, always online, multiplayer crap, alldrive, drifting in every freaking corners, no gripping anymore, autolog. None of this crapfest is NFS original formula. until Ea contract Ghost Games to return the original formula back in NFS it will always be Shitty game.

Today we want to take a look at racing titles that delivered phenomenal gaming experiences at both the arcade and on gaming consoles. This list ranges from the best simulators to titles that specialize in vehicular combat.
I've never been much of a racing sim fan, so I was happy to see a nice mix of sims and arcade racers on the list. I definitely played the hell out of Cruis'n USA in the arcades, and the NFS series is probably my favorite racing series currently.
A sleeper hit, IMO, Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero!
Twisted Metal Road Tour, oh my days the amount of time i spent on the city roof top level. Good times, good game..the PS4 could use a new Twisted Metal
road rash3D
san francisco rush
GTII
NFS high stakes& hot persuit2
top gear rally
extremeG
Fzero
err, a bunch more. just some of my favorites where i had some of the most memorable fun (crusin USA, too, mentioned above). i still play GTII and would play RoadRash 3D if i didnt crack my disc. both still very fun to play, imo.
We need a more improved Split Second game, but that'll never happen unfortunately.
