Bayonetta 3 still hasn't gotten any meaningful updates in 2021, but there's still time for it to appear at one of a few good venues.
The creator of Bayonetta argues that the inclusion of the multiverse didn't come out of nowhere and clarifies the ending of Bayonetta 3.
My issue with the games is that because each one is a different Universe you feel like you don't have a good development arc for the characters as each game is a reset. It felt like a cheap way to start a new game without writing around what you wrote or how you ended things in the last game.
It's a concept that's made the games overall story more confusing then it should be.
You have to be fair with them , knowing that the first game was multiplatform under platinum and sega . second& third are both exclusive Nintendo games . I’m guessing some kind of trade off had to be done for the exclusivity deal with one of the demands being to create a new storyline for the Nintendo games . That came with new lore , new characters and new stakes . As of recently it is said that platinum games re-acquired the rights to bayonetta from sega/Nintendo . I can expect the next game to be more akin to the original game and follow that storyline .
that report is a rumour completely. As of now Bayonetta is still owned by Sega with Nintendo's involvement for future entries.

Bayonetta 3 was announced almost 4 years with a teaser. I honestly don’t Bayonetta 3 entered full development until after it was announced.
It has about as much of a chance coming out this year as a Switch Pro.
Can publishers/devs stop announcing games so early? I don’t see any benefit from doing so and it’s really frustrating waiting years upon years for any news.
