For two game generations, Sony established itself as the industry leader: the popularity of the PSone carried over to the rampant success of the PS2. Of course, many people expected a similar situation for the PS3, but the transition for the latest system hasn't been as seamless as people expected.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
I think the onslaught of great looking games coming next year will certainly help the PS3's case, as well as the expected price drop.
It's only a matter of time, my friends.
I mean honestly. There is NO REASON why ps3 has to be more expensive than the xbox 360 by this marginal. I mean it costs the same amount as xbox 360 at launch. It doesn't make any sense why they don't expect that sales are going to be crappy, when it is still overpriced. If it goes down to 250, or 300. Sales will increase dramatically...
Nintendo might be able to save it, think they'll sell?
Why is IGN posting flame bait.
So I guess the IGN Playstation 3 Team is really the Pessimist Party.
Clearly its flame bait; I know some of you say its not worth it for a game system to be 400, I would agree if I didn't buy one last year for that price XD. I do think they could give it a price break of -50 or at least -75. But then again they could drop the price around Feb and the release of God of war 3. We all know that bad ass game will sell.
