After trying that beta I'd say you learned absolutely nothing. TrutleRock really is nothing without Valve's direction.

georeo1728d ago

You didn’t like the game? I only played for for 20min or so.

Rachel_Alucard1728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

Agreed. I had played the alpha back in december of last year and knew instantly this would suck. The physics, the gore, the feel of weapons, and doing the most basic function of killing things in the game is really terrible. You would think these people would dedicate themselves all around building that basic act of killing zombies down first before they started making nonsense like the card system or the whole background lore with the cleaners. Even in the interview Chris Ashton just starts off by saying "making 8 characters and attaching gameplay to those characters was important", when it should've been the other way around. That's not how you make a game that's how you make an advertisement. Even following that was the big focus on story suddenly. Who played L4D and went "Oh I want more story!" It's like they didn't design a game, just marketing assets. Don't even get me started on the writing, generic special designs, level design, or lack of anything interesting going on that isn't by the numbers. They even fail at their own unneeded focus on the story since it all it is just quips between characters in each game. I feel like they had either too many contractors just doing enough to get paid or they lack any talent or passion with their studio these days.

The card system is just awful, like why would you need something like that in a game like this

The pleasure from the original L4D was its creepy atmosphere, doom and gloom themes, it's more serious, grounded tone, the feel of each weapon, the ratification from killing zombies and so on.

I just think they've made something far too arcade like here

Rachel_Alucard1727d ago

The card system is the least of the games problems. Just that basic act of killing zombies just feels bland as shit. There's so many details lacking that would make the experience better, but it seems this team lacks any of the know how or talent to do these things taken for granted by Valve. I really don't like how they gaslighted the fact they made L4D but they really only made the concept of it and not all the parts people liked that Valve did.

FPS_D3TH1727d ago

Same here. The card system was confusing at first but the more I play the more I enjoy it’s system when playing the vs mode or harder difficulties. Playing on easy is a waste of time

I thought the beta was "good". I only played about an hour at most. FPS were an issue at some parts. with rtx 2080, on ultra, was getting low 100's in some spaces then others huge drops to 50's. I didn't mess around with any individual settings are tweak stuff as the huge drops weren't too often, but enough to annoy me. The game was fun, but I really have no desire for the pvp aspect of this game and I just don't see the PvE keeping me coming back. I feel like you run through the levels once and you've had enough. I'll download it on pC gamepass when it comes there and see how the final product is.

It'll be interesting to see how much Game Pass helps the game. I'm hoping for a strong launch. I love the Left 4 Dead series so will definitely be picking it up. Even if I only get half as much "use" out of it as Left 4 Dead 2 I'll still consider that a win (I played that game so much!)

Darkborn1728d ago (Edited 1728d ago )

The game ran great on my pc with ultra settings, but it felt kind of like Warhammer vermentide 2. Like the game world was pretty similar, and it just had options to do matches and create a deck. Idk it didn't seem as fleshed out as I had hoped. The gun range was pretty cool though, but I only did one mission and I felt like I had no idea what was going on. I joined a match partly started and I had to run super far with only a machete forever to make it to the group and I have no idea how many players were in my match. I'm pretty sure is 4 player coop, but my game must have glitches or lagged or something because there was like 16 players running around it was weird.

It's lies anyway , it has starfield in the list

SoloGamer1895d ago

i can experience most of these on PS5.. most of these arent XB exclusive.. why would i play multiplatform games on an inferior console.. when i can play them on the winning console, ps5.. that actually has way more awesome EXCLUSIVES.

Plague-Doctor27895d ago

Cause you can't play all of them on a PS5? Maybe people prefer the Xbox controller? Maybe that specific game runs better on Xbox?

Why play multiplats on a PS5 when you can experience them on a PC?

The3faces895d ago

So Series X is the inferior console compared to PS5? Um ok...

Wretchedstain895d ago

Clicks and likes, clicks and likes clicks and likes... clicks and likes clicks and likes clicks and Liiiiiiiiiiiikes...

ChasterMies894d ago

Only 30 games? Wow, that must have been super hard to narrow down.

zacly894d ago

This list just shows how bad xbox is struggling. I have been an xbox owner since the original on day one. This generation caused me to switch over to playstation and I haven't looked back. They need to stop buying all these companies up and start investing in some games
