Valve's new Steam Deck looks mighty and impressive and has an attractive price, but Nintendo Switch paved the way for its warm reception.

This unlikely duo will have no trouble winning you over.

Another Genesis-inspired shooter for the collection? Yessir!

Hope you like cheese puns and great action.
Yes nintendo did pave the way. By releasing such underpowered systems the steam deck feels like a breath of fresh air in comparison.
Someone is salty
Nintendo switch owes everything to tiger electronics. So what.
And Nintendo owes everything for past gen consoles, cause if it werent for those the Switch wouldn't receive so many low res game ports, and so its game library would it be even more average, hence less appealing imo.
What about the Razer Edge, which came out before the switch?
There's no doubt that the Switch has shown the appeal of a gaming focused tablet with controllers attached to it. However it wasn't the first on the market and won't be the last either.
So while I do believe the Switch can be partially credited for the hype behind the Deck, saying it owes everything to the switch seems a tad much.
