Samus Returns was well received and they have done a good job with the Castlevania LoS games. I think they know what they are doing.

Samus returns is a fantastic game, im glad Mercury st

Samus Returns is one of the high points in series. I'm not sure this opinion piece is warranted. Is the author sure he wasn't thinking of Other M by Team Ninja? (which is still a pretty decent game)

ZeekQuattro1790d ago

Their work on Samus Returns was good. It stands to reason this will be good as well. The 30 minute Treehouse playthrough of the game showed a lot of promise so that's always good.

Juvia1790d ago

Samus Returns was amazing, but the Castlevania LoS games were pretty bad.

I will remain cautiously optimistic here. :)

Whoa now, I can see calling LoS 2 bad... But the first one? It's an amazing game. There are some people that only care for the 2D Castlevania games, but LoS is in my top 3 Castlevania games period.

As far as Dread goes, I am so happy to see Metroid return to 2D gameplay. I love Prime, and can't wait to see what they do with 4. But Dread has me possibly even more excited. Not much matches the 2D metroid feel, despite all the "Metroidvania" style games that have flooded the market in the last 10 years.

2 was alright, 1 was the best but there is also Mirror of Fate as a nice in between.

AnotherGamer1790d ago

How is the first LoS game bad? Its was really good! The Second one was average at best but no THAT bad either.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing19d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9219d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit19d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing19d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9219d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
