I downloaded it and wow, the graphics is great even in handheld mode and it runs with very stable framerate. I already get the platinum of the base game on PS4 but I might play it again for Tifa story on Switch 2.
the switch 2 is meant to be next gen right? as in, a newer generation than the ps5 and xbox series? so of course instead of comparing it the last gen console they choose a console from the generation prior to that, just to give it every chance it can.
In this video, they compared it to next gen consoles(PS5 and Series X/S). But you'll see that even though the Series S and Switch 2 run at the same resolution, the Switch 2 is more crisp and detailed. The Switch 2 is on par with the quality versions of the PS5 and XSX.
You need to look at hardware specs, my friend. Yes, Swircg 2 is a next-gen console, but it is pretty far behind spec-wise. It’s more comparable to a PS4.

I've downloaded the demo. The graphics are beautiful, very crisp and detailed. The 30fps framerate is also very stable, it feels like it's still in the 40s in motion.
I have it on PS5 as well as part 2, but if it runs this well on Switch 2 even if it's not 60fps, maybe I'll play part 3 on Switch 2.
Square Enix has released a new side-by-side comparison video for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Not only do we get a look at the game's opening cutscene on the Switch 2 in docked mode, but alongside this is a direct comparison to the same moment on Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC.

That’s a cutscene followed by only two seconds of a completely static, dark gameplay scene.
why do they use docked mode in these comparisons? Obviously because its going to show it running at its best. but in almost every defense for the console they say "its a portable console". so, compare with the portable quality.
I disagree. Run the handheld mode vs the steam deck, ALLY X etc. But where I think this video overly flatters the Switch 2 is that this game runs at 60 FPS on PS5 and 30 FPS on Switch 2, they should have made the video 60 FPS to show the actual difference (this 30 fps video halves the temporal quality of the PS5 version).
so if there's multiple graphic options on the other consoles, are they showcasing them on their weakest setting?
I think considering most probably play it on portable mode, at the very least they need to show both. Assuming their aim is to inform.
Ps4 game playing on modern hardware .. nothing crazy , epic set pieces but mainly corridors so I believe to one extent or another S2 can handle it just fine . Rebirth is where I get skeptical , it was one of the few games I actually chose graphics instead of performance because of how muddied it looked on ps5 , just have to wonder how much S2 version will have to sacrifice .
Just because they've been confirmed them doesn't mean they won't run poorly is what i'm saying or heavily downgraded , there's been reports ER is having performance issues on S2 and it's nowhere as demanding as rebirth let alone part 3 which is gonna be an even more massive game
You still think the demo build of ER from Gamescom is the final build? LOL! Every event after gamescom, the demo is getting better and better.

Still looks bad for a 2025 machine that was touted by its fans to be as powerful as a PS5. Yuck! Yeah, yeah i don't want to hear the usual "but but it's a handheld" and "a compromise for its portability" BS.
