Turtle Beach Comments on DualSense Custom Controller; States “Tech Is Proprietary to Sony”

Turtle Beach comments on making a DualSense custom controller, and states that "tech is proprietary to Sony."

Darkborn1807d ago

So good guy Phil won't be able to update his controllers after all like he mentioned.

Notellin1807d ago (Edited 1807d ago )

You really think Microsoft couldn't design their own haptic feedback?

Sometimes I wonder if you dream about Phil and Xbox at night since it's all you talk about.

MIDGETonSTILTS171807d ago

I think the adaptive triggers are a bigger feature than haptic feedback.

Fluke_Skywalker1807d ago

I would disagree Midget, I don't like the triggers at all and turned it off. But the feedback is absolutely amazing. You can't describe it to people they have to feel it themselves. People think it's just fancy rumble, but it's so much more than that.

Highrevz1807d ago

Iirc Phill didn’t say he was planning or even wanted to bring any haptics to Xbox.

I hate the fact I’ll have to buy a Xim for my DS4 to use on PS5, the Duel Sense just feels so off for a PlayStation controller.

Sony built on tech Nintendo introduced, so don't see why MS can't or wont make their own version.

That said, anything MS does do will likely come with a mountain of promotion that will attempt to suggest that such is wholly their original idea or they've taken it to an nth degree when really all they did was copy.

Wintersun6161807d ago

Nintendo did not introduce adaptive triggers.

Godmars2901806d ago

@Wintersun616:

Their version of the tech was "HD touch" or something? Demoed it with clicking ice cubes for switch controllers and apparently done nothing with it since.

spicelicka1807d ago

Fortunately with the insane amount of money we're saving on Gamepass it's pretty easy to buy an Elite controller.

I wasn't aware Xbox is already trying to copy Sony's controller. Sony was the only one really innovating this new Gen. Guess Xbox is now just going to follow.

OneLove1807d ago

🤔 why would Microsoft create competition for its elite controller? Or maybe it will be regularly priced.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio29d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing29d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9229d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit29d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing29d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9229d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
