PM Studios and Endflame have revealed Ikai, a first-person psychological horror game, and it will launch on consoles and PC in October.

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Ikai was a horror title I was actually really looking forward to. A game steeped in Japanese folklore in a self contained location could (and to be fair, should) have made for an absolutely terrifying and unique experience. However, it just didn’t manage to make the cut: its short runtime, generic gameplay loop and complete lack of scares resulted in a really underwhelming and, more often than not, frustrating, horror title you should avoid. "

Paul writes: "The action is dull, and while the monsters are nice, you never feel like you are in any danger; as such the horror part of Ikai falls flat"

Ikai is a first-person psychological horror game drawing inspiration from Japanese folklore. Live the horror by the hand of its defining yokais and submerge into the superstitions of the past driven by a unique story and exploration.

How can that be? Japanese/Korean horror is all the same cookie-cutter crap.
