For FPS and strategy games I always use mouse and keyboard but for third person view and fighting games it's always a controller

XbladeTeddy1817d ago

Many reasons. Being able to aim for the persons eye balls with pixel precision (and most importantly with speed) is one reason for using a mouse for FPS games. Also, navigation in strategy games is obviously more precise and just quick and to the point.

Kornholic1817d ago

@XbladeTeddy

That "pixel precision" is just a power fantasy.

Babadook71817d ago (Edited 1817d ago )

Why not both?

Because mouse and keyboard gives an advantage, and many don’t enjoy using it for gaming regardless.

XbladeTeddy1817d ago (Edited 1817d ago )

@ Kornholic: It's no fantasy. An example would be if a fly was walking around your screen. With a mouse you could follow it with precision, speed and ease no matter how fast it turn and moves. It's all to do with DPI.

Kornholic1816d ago

@XbladeTeddy

No you could not. That is exactly the type of power fantasy I was referring to.

Same here. I can’t stand FPS with a controller. I can’t stand third person with mouse and keyboard either.

MadLad1817d ago

It depends on the games. Obviously FPS almost always plays better on M/K.
But I played the Gears series on M/K and it kind of just felt better than on controller for me.

RazzerRedux1817d ago (Edited 1817d ago )

I would definitely be more inclined to play TPS with KBM than FPS with controller so I can get that, but controller still feels more natural in third person.

For fighting games I go with arcade sticks, just can't get same level of combos with controller. Action/adventure on controller. Fps on m&k.

CaptainHenry9161817d ago

I forgot about the Hori arcade sticks. I think those are more for hard-core fighting fans though not really for casual gamers

got_dam1817d ago

Agreed. Stealth games ALWAYS get controller. Anything where precise movement speed is a requirement. Keyboard leaves you with walking speeds of too slow, or too loud. No in between.

FPS games will always be best on a mouse and keyboard. The precision and speed is unmatched.

Fntastic1817d ago

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were the last FPS games i enjoyed (with no choice) with a controller. PC with mouse and keyboard is much better for any first person game, then you have management games and strategy etc..

nickanasty2061817d ago

Gamsir is trash compared to XIM Apex. If you ever go M/K adapter, get the XIM Apex, a much better device.

plmkoh1817d ago

Why does it have to be K+M vs controllers?

I use a joystick controller and mouse for PC games. Or if you're on a budget you can hold a console controller with one hand and a mouse in the other.

Knightofelemia1817d ago

I tried to keyboard and mouse a game like L4D2 on PC I just can do it I get mixed up so easily. I am just so use to a controller kudos to those that can keyboard and a mouse so easily.

gold_drake1817d ago

this.
i find it so difficult to use a mouse and/or a keyboard my god. ill never understand haha.

Bladesfist1816d ago

It just takes a while to get used to it, you lose the skill if you don't do it for a while as well. I am completely useless at FPS with a controller now as I don't play those games with that input but I would probably get better after a few months.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio24d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing24d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9224d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit24d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing24d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9224d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
