I have a 40gb model this error use to happen to me and i couldn't update my trophies my ps3 har drive fixed itself one day it was really wierd

I had been given access to one of my friends download history. We were game sharing wipeout hd and stardust. I had earned a couple of trophies on wipeout but nothing yet on stardust. I was then given access to anothers friend dl history as I wanted to try out home. I then could not play wipeout. I could still play stardust but not wipeout. Maybe there is some truth to this. I ended up going back into the former account I dl wipeout with and had to redownload the game and key.

I have not been account swapping since and have achieved several trophies in both stardust and wipeout. To play it safe I think I will stick to my own account for now (at least till they get this resolved). Perhaps why my stardust wasnt affected was because I had not earned a trophy???

People should not discredit this so quickly. It could happen to you.

Why come in here and talk about how you don't have the problem? A lot of people do including me. I changed my password, shared home, went back to play Quantum of Solace and bam, it happened. That's all. So I'm proud that you don't have the problem, but a lot of people do.

humm i have changed my password alot because of leting some people use home and these never hapen to me so kool i think..

is these something that has hapen to any one here on n4g ??

This is an isolated thing, I have recently done exactly what this is talking about with no errors to my saves or trophies.

why i couldn't use my burnout save data. I had all the carbon cars to.

It's always good to see PS3 fans fighting over PS3 issues from time to time. Specially when they call each other liar and stuff.

I have changed my password and nothing happened...

This hit me after I changed my password in 2.52. Lost my GTAIV, LBP, Resistance 2, Wipeout and Uncharted save files because of this, they all refuse to load because they say they were created by another user. Making another user with the same name after deleting the old one then reloading a backup still ends up with same result. May 2008 40gb here.

ive had the same problem when i changed my HDD to 250gb about 2months ago. i cannot load games like wipeout HD and Uncharted.

I think there is a lesson here...

I only have one trophy(as I only have one game that supports it, SSHD)... lol. When SOCOM has trophies, then i'll start leveling. Muahahaahaaa!!

I guess some people are having this problem and some not, including me.
That being said, they still need to fix this issue for those that are having problems.

I have contacted Sony since I began receiving this error, and they essentially told me that they have no idea what the problem is and have no solution.

many times (i was trying to protect my account from someone who had got access to it), and i've never had this problem.

my guess is, it's an isolated incident, not something that will happen with ALL PS3's and accounts.

but hey, it's the gaming media. if it's a mole hill, you can bet they'll find a way to make a mountain out of it.

What is this guy talking about! I don't mean to be cruel but this situation is not as serious as this article makes it seem... I changed my e-mail as well as my password through the PS3 XMB as well as my password through the site account management. Nothing happened... I have to admit this article did worry me. If this issue is actually occurring it is happening to a very minimal amount of people.

My PS3 got the Code of Death. Error code 80010514. It means your Blu-Ray drive is f***ed and you need to have it repaired or replaced. It's a bigger issue than you'd think, but not so big that Sony even knows what 80010514 means.

That's what I don't get...What does the password has anything to do with it? I thought your save files were protected with your PSN ID. You can't change your PSN ID, can't you? You can only create a new one, if I'm not mistaken....I just don't see why the account password is so important if you can change it at will?

I think you have had something else cause this. I have changed my password many times myself as well and have never had any issues with my trophies. I feel for you if this is true. I would hate to do my games over again to get my trophies back. This is one of the reasons I routinely backup my game saves.

It isn't all bad. It allows you to save money by spending all your time playing over your old games from scratch. Look B3yond and you will realize that this is just something good, not bad! Keep the faith... PS3 and Trophies for the win. woohoo...!
