Given the outstanding levels of cooperation and cleverness employed in the making of TSA, two gamers thought it'd be easy to re-use the magic formula in a cooperative game of Resistance 2. There are various degrees of wrong in the world and an hour later they realised they were right at the forefront.
R2's coop lets you pick from one of three character classes. Basically: Soldier is the main grunt; Special Ops is like a soldier, but with the added job of dishing out ammo; Medic is a big girly puff, but has the - as they found - incredibly important job of healing the other players.
Here's how it went down.
Insomniac Games' thunderous conclusion to its acclaimed first-person shooter series remains an under-appreciated work of art.
Not a classic in my opinion ; a pretty mediocre PS3 shooter as far as I'm concerned, not bad, not the worst of the trilogy, but certainly not great. Killzone 2 was miles ahead of it (and of most FPSs even today as far as I'm concerned).
I wish they'd bring back the Resistance 2 multiplayer. God that co-op was so much fun.
The gaming industry moves at such a pace that it’s not surprising we’ve seen countless franchises fall into obscurity over the years.
There is a rumour that Driver 1 & 2 remasters will be released for Switch and presumably for other systems as well.

Not sure however whether this results into new games in the near future.
Ninja Gaiden? Splinter Cell? Tenchu? Virtua Fighter? Killer Instinct? Killzone?

Sony is in the middle of an FPS crisis, but bringing back two much-loved PlayStation shooters could easily be the solution.
I honestly don't think we'll be seeing these anytime soon, if ever. Insomniac is officially on Marvel duty since it seems that all they're working on based off the leaks, and Horizon is more of what the casuals want these days. And I now I'll get a bunch of disagrees, but keep in mind that Resistance last got a game on the PS3 (2011) and Killzone was a launch title for the PS4 (2013). 10 years is a long time to make a game, if had any interest they would've done it by now, add InFamous to that list.
Resistance 3 turned me off to the series but I’d love a reboot. KillZone I think can stay dead. Give me a new Resistance like 1or 2 and I’ll be happy.
I honestly never cared or liked killzone. Huge resistance fan though. I remember so many nights playing melee only on USS Lexington, and I like the alt history vibe.
From the article:
"As is usual when we get together for a game over the PSN, the first attempt took 20 minutes of trying to find each other,..."
This is his description of getting in Co-op with R2? Hmmm... played Co-op 2 nights ago. Hit triangle, invited a couple buds to party, partied up in about 2 minutes, joined game and up and playing in about 4 minutes total (wait time for game to start included). So this 20 minute thing either means he is using a USR Office Connect with a 56k modem on one end, has really crappy luck OR he is full of sh*t. In any case, what?
"Medic is a big girly puff, but has the - as they found - incredibly important job of healing the other players."
A medic owns once you hit Lvl 24
the first time we used it, it took 15mins to get it going, its too simple its hard and made a mess of it
