This company is mostly Walmart level sh$%. At this point the damage will take decades to mend.

Christopher1723d ago

His bonuses also got cut, so not really. They cut his salary and bonus potential as well.

Godmars2901721d ago

But is such going to translate to better base wages and compensation? Some kind of economic protection from layoffs after a project's completed.

Christopher1719d ago

Indirectly, it will. That money will go to investment in new projects which means more opportunities.

Godmars2901719d ago

And you know this how?

By "new projects" all you're saying is more work for people who are already largely being exploited.

May as well be talking about trickle down economics. Relying on the goodwill of those who have well shown they have none.

Christopher1718d ago

Same way you seem to know there is no good to this at all.

Godmars2901718d ago

Unless an official announcement happens saying the excess salary will be turned into lower employee benefit and wages, this is likely a temporary stunt that will quietly reversed later.

seanpitt231723d ago

If I just got a $200m bonus I would gladly work for free.. I wouldn’t need any more money that’s enough money for 100 life times otherwise it’s just pure greed

roadkillers1721d ago

It's subjective. People look at Bobby and get upset because of Activision and Blizzards direction. Others look at Elon Musk and think he's doing great things.

seanpitt231721d ago

Elon is a legend moving things forward for the better of mankind... Bobby just a greedy f$ck

Aussiesummer1721d ago

Did you just compare Elon musk to this scumbag? Lol.

Eamon1721d ago

Lol, that's probably the worst comparison ever. Musk is pretty much a pioneer in his domain. Kotick is in the business of looting his company until the end.

giveyerheadawobble1721d ago

On what fucking planet is 200 million "subjective"? He has more money than you, me, your extended family, and everyone in your entire DNA chain throughout history has had and will ever have. This man has enough wealth to effectively eradicate homelessness in the United States. He could give 99% of his money away and still be filthy fucking rich enough to have more money that 99.999% of the human population.

Saaleh1721d ago (Edited 1721d ago )

Thank you, now my DNA is no longer interested in me. :(

My DNA: Why you let Bobby do dis..

If it turns out that i can't have kids , now i know it is because of this moment.

InUrFoxHole1721d ago

Video game vs. Mars
Horrible comparison

Godmars2901721d ago

Subjective in that CEOs see bonuses and raises while devs get laid off and monetization creeps into ever lower quality games consumers are only expected to buy?

anubusgold1721d ago (Edited 1721d ago )

We hate him because he chased off everyone at blizzard and put in his bean counters and thats why Word of warcraft is going to hell. That was hundreds of millions of dollars of subs a month and bobby dumb ass managed to mess even that up no wonder bungie wanted to leave .

$2 million is not enough for one lifetime unless maybe you live and die alone and don't travel or go out.

Putnum1720d ago

Seven children can't do maths

Germaximus1721d ago

so, a pay cut that includes earning more than the pay cut somehow?

sourOG1721d ago

Halves his salary and bonus, people still bitch lol.

sourOG1721d ago

Eat shit bitter bitch

InUrFoxHole1720d ago

Ahhh you mad Bobby? Pro tip... Be more likeable.

sourOG1719d ago

Ahh are you bitter bitch? Pro tip: No one cares if you like them or not.

He belongs in here ⚰️, hopefully sooner than later.

MrDead11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.
