OXM UK has posted a video showing Resident Evil 5's splitscreen co-op in action.
The video was recorded from the demo that was released on Xbox 360's Japanese Marketplace today and focuses on a brief encounter towards the end of the Shanty Town area.
Circana data shows Resident Evil 5 as the best selling Resident Evil game in the US, ahead of Resident Evil 4 remake and Village.
So the most successful RE is the one where a white man is killing Africans.

New leaks from Dusk Golem detail cancelled Resident Evil projects, including a Rebecca focused Revelations game, while stating no Resident Evil 5 remake is in development.
Capcom's willingness to invest in experiments and scrap them sets them apart form many other developers (Nintendo have a similar methodology). Far too often companies push a game setting or game mechanic that is just not that good and the final product is middling or poor.
Dusk Golem claims a Resident Evil 5 remake is not coming this year, with a Code Veronica remake expected instead.
Dude Code Veronica is bad too but RE5 and 6 were mega successful and to me it makes much more sense for Capcom to do them instead. Nobody cares about Code Veronica except niche fixed camera era RE fans, i bet most modern RE fans probably don't know Code Veronica even exists. Based on all that i don't believe CV remake is coming but we will see i guess.
Actually RE5-6 was not Classic RE game.. They are not even Survival Horror game.. They are just an action game with coop and named by RE... And for me RE Code Veronica was masterpiece.. I remembered the first time i played it in Dreamcast.. It was absouletly excellent game. And specially for RE6.. I was quit from game after the camera shakes when Leon's kick to zombies.. people are DYING for a Code Veronica Remake. Not sure who you are talking to, but the die-hard RE fans of the series are very familiar with every entry. That's what it means to be called a die-hard fan.

I am sure If they were to remake CV that it 2ont have fixed camera angle. I hope whatever they do they take their time like RE2/4 remakes and not rushed with cut content like RE3 remake
Before they should do RE5 they should go back and remake earlier games. In a perfect scenario we would get CV and RE/Zero before RE5/6
It makes more sense for them to remake earlier games like Code Veronica. RE5 is a good game though - it's not THAT different from RE4.
RE5 just doesn't really need to remade in general. The co-op element makes it tricky - you'd probably add more moments where Chris is by himself enhance the horror but some would want co-op to stay.
RE:5 Was and still is a great game, with hands down the best Merc mode, that I still play from time to time with my brother.
RE:6 blah, I agree, it was awful.
Other than Code Veronica, 6 is the one ai want to see remade the most only because pretty much everything has to be redone; can't streamline that hot mess.
6 was pretty bad. 5 just tried too hard in being an action-oriented RE4.
In some fairness to Capcom, 5 was the first Resident Evil on then-new hardware for them (X360 and PS3). And it was pretty damn hard to follow up RE4.
Imagine everyone's surprise when EA of all companies dropped Dead Space.
The first half of 5 wouldn't be too hard to do in the more grounded style the remakes have gone for, but the second half gets pretty silly and uncomfortable at parts.
6 is a wash. You'd have to basically make a whole new game to salvage that one at this point.
Hopefully if and when they do a RE5 remake, they give it the RE3 remake treatment, because this is certainly one title that I don't want a faithful remake of.
It's interesting how they've off-centered the screens. It does make it a lot easier to see what's going on though. I'm glad they've kept the aspect ratio correct and not tried to stretch it to fit the screen, but obviously you'll need a decent TV to get the most out of it.
But most importantly of all, I'm glad that I can play the co-op offline. I don't have two controllers for nothing.
The 360 version will be superior! Just like all capcom titles are better on 360 than the PS3. for this gen you need only 3 cores @ 3.2 ghz and a great GFX.
The pS3 has on the PAPER the better cpu but the RSX sux hard. Same if you would get a Geforce 1 and 512 MB RAM with a quad core CPU. The games would look like crap..
I dont get why it is like that, why splitscreen is not full screen anymore? COD 5 is the same thing... Is it taking too much ressource to make it "full split screen"?

sports games, i really cant see why anyone would wanna play in split screen. It's crap, especially now online play is so good on xbox live and games are now putting in co-op.
On one point and thats yes loads of mates round, loads of beer and a fifa tournament or pes as it used to be, but you cant enjoy playing on half a screen?, not too bad co-op, however if your on mp, you just look at the other persons half and bingo, you know where each other is, no suprises. And even racing games, it just does my eyes in trying to keep focused on my side of the screen, no sorry, rockband, sports games , anything that needs full screen for me.
