Unfortunately, despite appearing in numerous Olympic-themed video games with his old pal Sonic, Mario’s cameo at the Tokyo Olympics wasn’t meant to be.

Thomcult: This Friday, the 8th of August at 12:08 UTC the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing will begin. Millions, if not billions of people throughout the world will watch. Over the coming weeks those spectators will watch not only one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar but also in advertising and branding. However, whilst many brands from numerous sectors will be present at the Olympics videogames will remain conspicuous by their absence.

Destructoid writes: "A sports game? On my Wii? It's more likely than you'd think. Memes aside, Summer Olympics is just what it sounds like -- a collection of sports events that all take place at the Summer Olympics. Yet another title in the series of Crave Entertainment previews I've been bringing -- this one developed by Conspiracy Entertainment, though.
The other title, also developed by Conspiracy Entertainment, is called Crash Time: Autobahn Pursuit. Get your chance to play as German police, pulling over criminals, writing speeding tickets, and all the other exciting parts of being a police officer!"
“ One thing does seem clear, though — this particular take on the plumber likely would've avoided the controversy his Odyssey rendition generated. It's really hard to include nipples in 8-bit pixel art.”
Lmao Were his nipples really a “controversy” at some point? Was that really a thing or just polygon and kotaku being typical?
