I wish it to be Max Payne but license changed hands, so ...

roadkillers1914d ago

I think Rockstar did a fine job with 3.

FPS_D3TH1914d ago

I did too. Big Max Payne fan as well. Still hope they make another. A remaster would be pretty incredible though too

RaidenBlack1914d ago

Yup, Max Payne 3 was awesome.
Too bad it wasn't remastered.

MadLad1914d ago

Possibly my favorite third person shooter. I wish Rockstar would take the series off the shelf and actually do something with it.
Hell, they could hire on Remedy to do a Max Payne 4, or even a reboot.
That could be really interesting, honestly.

What's with Remedy and the niche games? They are good, but they are all very super niche.

MrSec841914d ago

Super Niche is a game that is obscure and only sells a handful of copies, Niche is sub 100K, Control selling 2 million units makes it mainstream.

roadkillers1914d ago

The game was super niche. Was weird, blocky levels, different way to tell a story, and very obstract

toxic-inferno1914d ago

In this age, niche can be considered to equally refer to "a game that appeals to only a small, specialised segment" as well as to "a game within a genre that only appeals to a small, specialised segment".

Control fits the second of these definitions, but perhaps not the first. I think it's better to think of it as a cult game - wildly popular amongst it's fans, but not as widely-adored as other games. Though the word "cult" usually refers to something that has developed a following over many years.

We need a new word!

NeoGamer2321913d ago

@roadkillers
I think the word is more unique.

Weird, blocky levels, different way to tell stories, and very abstract is not niche, it is different.

Niche is a limited audience game. I don't think Remedy is trying to limit their audience. I think they are trying to be unique and different to stand out and be less generic. I applaud that.

I feel the ship sailed for a followup to Alan Wake. It is a great game and had gotten the backing they wanted, it would have come out sooner. Each passing year means the window is closing more and more. BUT... that doesnt mean they cant give it a proper full remake in glorious HDR.

Same with Quantum Break. That game could benefit from the updated Control Engine (or whatever it's called) and run at 60fps.

FPS_D3TH1914d ago

Call rockstar and get to making Max Payne 4

CrimsonWing691914d ago (Edited 1914d ago )

Alan Wake 2, I hope.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
