Nah, 3 was the worst, 2 was the best.

I've wanted to love this series for years.

ME1 was by far the best overall experience for me, but it has aged a bit worse visually and mechanically. bit stilted and unrefined, with some slightly rougher spots here and there, but consistent and no massive immersion or game breaking issues to detract from the experience.
Engrossing setting, good characters and exciting prospects of where the story would go as it went. played on 360.

Me2, well that was hype! got it for Ps3 touted all over as the complete definitive edition. this had gotten lots of praise.
Way more refined and fluid, overall well executed visually and mechanically.
However as fun and engrossing it was with good and endearing characters I couldnt put up for more than 10-15 hours as it kept hard crashing every half an hour at best outside of the hub area(ship) and framerate got atrocious at times during some busy combat scenes, definitively lower teens if not worse.
Then there was a bug or something with the menu, audio cutting out and loading the game I think, dont quite remember but I felt it was low effort cash grab port touted from the sky with promises of polished and further enhanced visuals, notably in the lighting departement. There was a good game in there somewhere, but it wasnt finnished/polished and I couldnt bare all the hot garbage.
Talked to bioware and they just brushed me off and ignored me. how dare I ask them to fix their perfect game?

Havent bothered with Me3 at all.
The experience Ive had with DA2 didnt help either as they did put up a demo on PSN. Dont remember how it plays at all. but I remember it was hideous and uninspired looking with dull assets just lazily repeated and copypasted all over and animations didnt help.
Nothing stood out as good looking in the least. would be fair to assume it was a ps2 port of something alas it was a brand new 360/ps3 release at the time.

Could it be that my experience with ME2 and DA2 has soured me completely?
Sure, ME2 may well be at least playable on Pc and 360. however it wasnt for me on ps3 and biowares responses didnt seem to take me seriously at all.

After Andromeda... which I am aware was handled by a another branch of the studio I think now is the time to at least put in an effort and make the trilogy remaster great.
If they cant handle that with flying colours, now that many have lost faith I think its do or die at this point.
Also a golden opportunity to win me over with their famous trilogy.

We shall see how it pans out.

I dunno, it depends on a few factors. I didn't like the endings, even after they «fixed» it, felt disappointing. I still remember the first time you spoke with the Reaper and when you asked «why are you doing this?!» it responded with «you wouldn't understand». But after the ending, turns out, it was really easy to understand. And the whole Leviathan DLC were just bad, IMO, didn't answer any questions.

I did like the gameplay, missions. But only because i imported the saves from the PC version, so most of my decisions carry through.

Then i started a new game on PS3, with fresh save. And i remember the Rachni queen, that i originally saved in Mass Effect 1 (and they continue her story in Mass Effect 3 for that imported save), in fresh save was destroyed and reapers just... created a new one, for some reason. I thought they would make a different mission and remove that new enemy type. That was disappointing. Didn't like new party members, EDI was meh, Vega was even worse, Javik was ok (but was a paid DLC), old were still good. For instance, Mass Effect 2 had Thane, Samara, Miranda, Mordin, Legion, Kasumi, all interesting new characters, Mass Effect 3 felt like nostalgia trip.

I thought that ME1 was probably the best RPG of the bunch, while ME2 probably had the best story, and ME3 was probably the best for the combat.

If you are not trying to be edgy and different then ME2 is the best in the series.

Mass Effect 2 is the best Mass Effect game.
Mass Effect 3 had the best story, minus the ending.

ME2 was best, but ME3 is great. ME3 IS the ending - a 40 hour ending.

I don't think ME3 deserves a lot of the hate it got, with the exception of the ending of course(which was probably the worst ending I've ever experienced in a game), it certainly refined a lot of the mechanics from ME 2 and I enjoyed the story for the most part. Had some great moments, I really got a kick out of popping shots and reminiscing with Garrus(Rocky Bal-Broa!) and whatnot, but the best of the series? Can't agree.

No, the best will always be ME 1. For all it's gameplay flaws and technical issues, it had the greatest impact, both story and lore-wise. I loved the RPG elements over the shooter aspects that became the norm in the latter two games. I much preferred driving the Mako around planet surfaces than that godawful mining probe mini-game you were forced to grind through in the second game. Ugh. Anyway, they were all great games in their own right, and certainly leagues better than Andromeda.

ME3 was the worst of the trilogy and it isn't debatable. Casey Hudson and Mac Walter's trashed it without any input from the other writers. Everything you built with your character was destroyed with an unhappy ending. The relationships and friendships all ruined. You couldn't pick an ending without the genocide of a species and the death of Shepard all by picking a color... Straight Dumpster

Though the more restricted scope of 2 appealed to us more, this makes sense in many ways.

Why can't I holster my sidearm?

Their highest rated, best remembered, socially loved franchise... and they have small team working on it for the past 2- 3 years?

Absolute garbage company along side all the heads that made Andromeda.

Maybe Saudi Arabia make something out of this.

overall if they could get CDPR and quadratic dream to help them make the game that would give me hope for the game

Still riding off the coat tails of the original staff from Bioware that have long since moved on.
