Wow, if I knew that was the lameness you all have been backing, I would have had a good laugh about it already, so the problem is they want to make money on a sub-service?...oh no, so terrible? every company has a sub-service; they just have the best sub-service; how is day 1 the big problem with that? Are you concerned with MS money?

Nope, that is the goalpost move from a certain fan base. Sony is obviously hanging on to the standard model of game sales, even bigger, Nintendo is, and they sell phenomenally. MS is attempting to create their own lane, not make Nintendo and Sony join theirs. MS lost playing that game, so they had to find a separate strategy, and they obviously landed on GP, they could not win with the standard model, so they jumped out, not unlike Nintendo, who had to create their own lane because they could not compete in the console power race. MS had to do something, so they started with day and date PC and kept expanding that.

So you are telling me that the whole purpose of GP is to get Nintendo and Sony to put all their games on a sub-service on day 1? What kinda conspiracy theory nonsense am I reading from you? why would they want Sony to do that? Are you telling me MS's master plan is that they want Sony to take their giant blockbuster games, give them to their players on day 1, and objectively have a better service than GP? That's their plan.....Just think about that for a second will you? What in bloody hell would they gain?

With that, why in bloody hell would you guys care if MS put their games in GP on day 1? Clearly, this article isn't about "supporting the third-party developer" because you guys are talking about games you will play off PS +. What is the argument against MS putting their games on GP day 1 for their consumers, especially when anyone can buy the games anywhere else(PC and even some on, Switch & PS)? Tell me who it hurts except possibly MS sales. In other words please say something that makes sense.

I disagree that Sony is "hanging on" more than Nintendo which really doesn't even have a similar subscription. (yes I know about Switch online)

Yes, I understand that, but the point is it's not financially sustainable... That's why they have to put their games on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles and couldn't support Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Studios, Tango Gameworks, Roundhouse Games.

Also probably a bad move to go day one PC, it trivializes the console, which they also now struggle to sell.

Your whole argument is ridiculous.

1. You can buy every single game on GP; the service is an option.

2. Sony has a sub-service, and because they don't put their first-party games on there, they are somehow better. huh? PS + is a rental service just like GP, and Sony even has more games on their service than MS does; how in bloody hell does Day 1 change that? I'll tell you...Sony wants more money and cannot fund PS + the way MS does, not because they care about some misguided fanboy nonsense, it's all about dollars and cents, pal.

3. That is why Sony is doing a live service push, PC release, and now a game on the Switch(spare me it's not Sony crap); no Sony fan asked for that, but guess what? They are doing it anyway, dollars and cents, pal.

4. Please explain to me if Sony's game sales model is so great and flourishing, why they laid off 900 people, closed the London studio, pressured arguably their top developer to cut back on game budgets, then laid off some of the staff, please tell me why Sony is threatening Bungie with a takeover, and why they had to lay people off, You already said why MS had to do it because they "lose game sale" so remember we are not talking about MS, we are talking about Sony, so just answer the questions.

5. Tell me why the game devs keep launching into GP. Capcom has a day 1 new game going right into GP, I think it's like their 3rd game now that went day 1 into GP; tell me why SE is now saying they are making all their games multiplatform, including Xbox, and then had some go into GP, hell, they even had FF games on GP,..I can tell you why MS made a deal with them, and they are all happy about it; you don't get fucked once and keep coming back for more; it makes no sense. Are you concerned about MS spending for GP games? please stop being silly.

...and MS are not telling the customer they can ONLY rent and never buy, yet that is what many think is happening.
