Microsoft's wild journey to create the first Xbox required dismantling a PS2 for inspiration.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

G-MODE will release Namco-developed game Xenosaga: Pied Piper as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced.
Everyone: We want a Xenosaga Trilogy Remaster/Release/Remake!
Namco: We hear you! We are going to re-release a Xenosaga mobile phone game!
Everyone: wtf?
Now now... guys... Maybe this is part of testing the waters for either a trilogy re-release , remaster, remake, or a reboot?
"... for inspiration"
Or in layman terms, we don't even know where the hell should we start.
Interesting. Given how different the first Xbox hardware was when compared to the PS2. I don't think it helped much if anything in regards to development. Though it might have helped in the form factor? As both devices are bulk in comparison to previous consoles and the Gamecube.
Yeah PS2 was a DVD player right out of the box Microsoft screwed up and made it where you had to buy a remote just to play a DVD movie. The original Xbox is not a bad console depending on which board revision and certain drive you go in the thing. The Thompson drives are practically garbage in the og Xbox removing the clock capacitor on earlier Xbox's is mandatory or they leak and kill the board. I like the fact the og Xbox is very easy to take apart the lay out is the best I have seen in a console easy to swap parts. Best of all the disc drive is not married to the mother board like the XB1 and Xb360. I never bought an og Xbox until I saw one for $10 I like the look I bought a PS2 when they came out and just skipped the Xbox.
Well they would be kinda stupid not to really.
Most car manufacturers buy a car from a competitor as take it apart.
You mean to tell me that not a single Sony engineer has taken apart a single non-Sony gadget?
