Review: Mare | VRFocus

VRFocus says: "Mare is as an enchanting as it is bewildering. There’s nothing wrong with its vague narrative as that mystery is what keeps it interesting. The art style never gets boring and the detail achieved on the Oculus Quest 2 makes it a feast for the eyes. But (and there’s always a but) just because it is pretty doesn’t mean to say Mare forms a cohesive whole, feeling like it’s not quite reached its potential"

Playstation just dropped some great PSVR2 trailers. Alien Rogue Incursion is a day 1 for me, but this looks great.

Hitman and Alien were great. Didn't care for the Trumpet or Rhythm boxing games.

This one could be interesting. Will need to see more on it.

Yeah and apparently the gt7 ps5pro patch will be coming within a week. My favorite vr game.

I kind of like this one. Sounds a bit like the mechanic in Ico where you needed to protect the girl from the shadow creatures while figuring out the puzzles.

Apart from a visual experience as with any VR game, I feel this one doesn't offer anything unique for VR, like it could easily be a TV only game. I felt this way with the Book of Moss game but then it won multiple awards or something

Moss is pure VR. You have a top down view, but it doesn't work with flat screen since you have to move and look around to find solutions to the puzzles.

Those are amazing games that go beyond the 1st person VR staple.

I've seen a lot of gameplay but having not played it, it didn't look like something that couldn't have been adapted to a TV experience, it honestly seemed like a TV/Monitor game with a VR mod to me.. VR could be added to a lot of puzzle games and offer an enjoyable VR experience, but there are some that really just don't seem to scream "I must play this in VR".

Maybe you should try Moss in VR then.. even if the game would look it could be a flat TV game, Moss in VR is awesome and you feel like you are her companion that helps her in her journey.. plus when you look, you move objects and that works great in VR too.. it is very easy to judge games without trying them in VR.. I think there is a demo of Moss, so try it

This is very significant. Great news.

shinoff2183869d ago

Is it just that easy? I'm genuinely asking.

Babadook7867d ago (Edited 867d ago )

For a few games it's pretty easy. Just need to apply the mod and settings. For most of them of course you need tinker yourself with settings at the moment but it's not that hard (apparently).

RiseNShine867d ago (Edited 867d ago )

It's as easy or complex as you want, most of the big games like Hogwarts Legacy, Atomic Heart, etc, , hundreds of them (check flatscreen to vr discord) have some profiles already made, so you just load them and it automatically sets the best settings others modders have already found, so it's a matter of minutes, but of course you can tinker for hours to make it suit your needs.

Praydog is amazing..not only made a lot of modern Resident Evil games to work in VR, now its Unreal engine games...definitely a talented guy
