Why you should wait before buying Microsoft's new gaming console

The Xbox Series X costs $500 but is it worth that price? On paper its specs look powerful and impressive but how is it in person? I spent over a week testing a review unit of the Series X, provided by Microsoft.

Cant wait... new hardware is calling to me. And I must pick up the phone.

lifeisgamesok2027d ago

All new consoles should launch with new compelling games. I'll never forget staying up late playing Sonic on the Sega Genesis and Super Mario Bros on the SNES

OptimusDK2026d ago

So you only buy a new Phone if there are launch apps coming with it?

JonTheGod2026d ago

He said "consoles" not phones. Stop trying to twist the discussion.

New TVs don't have exclusive content, but that doesn't bolster your argument either. You buy new consoles to play new games. The different brands release exclusive games to pull you into their ecosystem. Xbox has no real exclusives at launch so why bother?

DaveZero2026d ago

You wernt saying that I bet when both Microsoft's and Sony's consoles this gen hadn't got one exclusive for at least two year, I bet you went out and straight had a sony machine.

Shut yeh dribble up and stop attacking the xbox in any little way you can.

lifeisgamesok2026d ago

It's funny you said this because I got my XB1 1st because I wanted to play Ryse Son of Rome

lifeisgamesok2027d ago

I agree with the author, content will always be king

MocBistro2026d ago

No launch game interests me

OptimusDK2026d ago

Cyberpunk 2077, Assasins, Watch dogs, COD...

MocBistro2025d ago

Assasin and WD is gonna be so bad. The rest is first person or available on PC

S2Killinit2026d ago

Why wait on xbox? Because in case MS does as badly as the current gen.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing25d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9225d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit25d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing25d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9225d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
