Had massive expenditure Sep Oct with spending on birthdays etc so to pop out another £359 for a ps5 digi plus another £70(cod) was too much of a stretch managed to grab a series S so il buy cod for that

Should be able to nab a ps5 April approx

Father - Couldn't you have put down a deposit? I'm guessing that's what 99% of people did.

And I think SONY will be working extra hard to get more units ready before Christmas. There's not a huge price difference between series x and PS5, and PS5 has a HUGE power advantage over series s.

Exact same thing for me. PS5 as main console but couldn't get one and have managed to pre order a Series S as the 2nd console. If Microsoft come good with the games I may consider upgrading to the X in s couple of years.

Seriously, everyone's raving about it. i just watched ACG. He usually has a (albeit slight) preference for the feel of the xbox controllers, but he's gushing about DualSense, saying it's the most comfortable, well made controller. He genuinely was almost lost for words lol

I can't wait until we get some more video breakdowns of how it actually works in game. I am really hoping it works the way i think its going to. The triggers for me are what i am most intrigued with. I am really hoping the trigger tension changing depending on weapon actually works in practice.

Pre ordered mine back in june from a company that started pre orders without knowing how many units they would be sent. I was an idiot who trusted that they knew what they were doing but I recently got e-mailed a apology with a message that read: 'expected delivery date: 21th may 2021'...
I really hope Sony steps up production quick!

i'm 90% sure it's only got something like 5% more volume than XBSX. Ps5 is much taller, but XBSX is fatty.

That's right. What's more, if you look at the volume of PS5 disc and digital, it's actually smaller volume than the Series X. A convoluted approach to make a point, sure, but they're essentially the same size lol

PS5 is taller and slimmer, Series X is shorter and fatter.

Reviews of the controller seems very very very positive. Exciting!!

Check out the giant bomb quick look for astros. Lot of cool nostalgia from the ps history and the controller seems to be doing some fascinating stuff.

Of course, I get that that's the reasoning behind it, but design-wise I think they could've managed to make it less obtrusive than it is now. That's where Microsoft has done a much better job with the Series X's blocky design imo, even if it's volume is just 5% less bigger as stated above.

I don’t get the appeal of unboxing videos. Like I was watching the IGN one and the dude is just reading the back of the controller box. He then unboxed the charging station and literally says, “it just kind of sits there.”

I want to see the UI, demo the game, and explain the haptics and show it best as you can. I couldn’t care less what they printed on the box, how you cut through the tape, how it’s packaged and what cables you pull out of the box.

I don't either. I think it is mainly just another piece of content to consume while you're hyped for it, but there isn't much to be gained. Sometimes you can get a better sense of a product when in a persons hands, and the occasional good unboxer can give some useful insights you might not get from a product sheet.

But the IGN unboxer sounds like they are crap at their job, so makes it that much less useful and interesting.

Just to keep in mind on horizontal vs vertical on the XSX. The XSX has the base on it for vertical orientation that you can't take off, so it'll just be hanging off the side if you lay it horizontal. If you have it vertical, there are apparently rubber feet on the right side for when it is laid horizontally. So it seems either way you have it, some part of a stand for the alternate orientation will be visible, which I find a puzzling decision from MS. But I don't see the feet quite as much in the promotional material, so I'm guessing vertical will be the most aesthetically pleasing for the X as well.

The only thing aesthetically pleasing about Xbox is the green thing at the top lol. No matter which side it’s on it’s a block box. The ps5 looks pretty cool vertically imo. A god of war faceplate will be bought. Horizontally it looks like something was melted under a heat lamp and it’s upside down with the disc on the bottom.

I watched the unboxing of both new consoles and was interested to see how Sony would package the PS5. While I don’t think Xbox has much to offer yet and will be getting a PS5 in a couple weeks, goodness that Xbox packaging felt premium, especially compared to the bland business like packaging of the PS5. The closest thing I could give to a compliment is to say maybe they were going for a utilitarian packaging scheme, but that doesn’t feel right given the more radical design of the console than we are used to seeing out of Sony. It’s really not even an important thing to care about, just thought the two different approaches was interesting.

All xbox packaging has been premium even back in xbox og. Solid packaging and decent compartments for the gear. Playstation on the other hand have always been minimal for some reason. Nintendo is the same premium feeling packaging look how the wii was done with nifty cardboard drawers etx
