It's based off a Anime that came out in 2018 at least according to what it says on Netflix. On the show people ride on top of all the Zoids and they are treated more like wild animals that you need to tame instead of just mobile suits with a.i .

It's definitely kiddy. A few episodes in and a goofy trio is trying to find certain Zoids. Think Team Rockets Jessie and James trying to get Pikachu. They even have a mascot that looks he belongs on another show.
