Baldur's Gate 3 :: Community Update #8 - Character Creation

What defines you? Is it who you are, or the journey you’re on? In Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s both. Creating a character in Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t the moment the world decides how to treat you, but it’s the very beginning of the shaping of your story. BG3 is a world with great player agency, and the most important character in that world is you.

I really hope early access for this game doesn't end up being like so many other games that are in early access forever with no real intention to have a finished product because I am not buying it until it's done.

Bender65022073d ago

Early access is at full retail price is it not? I've wished-listed this game, but will wait for final product release, also.

20-to-25-hour campaign, 80 combat encounters, meetup with 596 NPCs, use 146 spells and 150 pre-made faces to choose from.
150 GB free space requirement and 80 GB install size.
And all this from an early-access. Jeez.

Bender65022073d ago

Agreed. Can't wait for the full game, but what is the price of early access? That put me right off.

Oooof. I have very little hope for this with how badly they screwed up Season 2. I loved and re-watched the first season of The Las of Us 4-5 times now. Only watched season 2 once and will not be watching Season 3 unless I'm very bored. The fact that Larian isn't involved is also another red flag.

TLOU show creator…oh God

There’s a reason why the show went from “Season 4 and possibly beyond” to “it might end at Season 3”

Daeloki120d ago

I mean regardless of who's making it, there's simply no hope for it.
A) Larian is not involved. This is gonna be pure Hasbro greed.
B) It's a game that largely revolves around player choice, with tons of outcomes and replayability. There is no single canon to translate into a show.
C) It's a high fantasy setting, with spectacular visuals that are going to be very expensive, and also very difficult to get to look actually good in live action.

Only potential they have is if they lean into campiness, make it vibe like old 90's, early 2000's fantasy shows like Xena, Mystic Knights etc. Less epic and more failed skill checks, "wrong" choices.

From what I have read, The Last of Us season 2 woes, was because of Neil Druckman. I have hope for season 3 now that he is out if the equation. I have hope for BG live action show. Its also being worked in by the team that did Chernobyl.

Shaky Relationship meaning Hasbro wanted an even larger cut of the pie moving forward. Also why we're not getting BG4 w/Larian. Hasbro just wanted to bleed them dry.

Michiel1989146d ago

no im pretty sure it was related to the people from hasbro that helped with the game getting fired or that only the people from Larian were eligible for bonusses and Larian didn't fuck with that

Christopher146d ago

The people from Hasbro were fired by Hasbro. Why would non-workers on a game get bonuses for not having worked on the game (meaning anyone at Hasbro)?

repsahj147d ago (Edited 147d ago )

Because they are busy for the next Divinity game on Switch 2. Fine by me because I already have BG3 on my PS5, and believe me or not, I didn't finish it. Considering I bought the Deluxe edition to play it ahead of everyone. XD

gigoran8146d ago

if this were able to run on the switch 2, then theoretically the PS4 pro should be able to as well. can't wait for that port

Neonridr146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

you do realize that in terms of numbers it might be on par with a PS4 Pro. However, GPU wise, it has a much larger feature set available to it. The PS4 Pro couldn't even run FSR natively.

Terry_B146d ago

Yeah..I doubt BG3 would run well on the Switch 2.
