Say what you will about Sony. There is no doubting the pedigree of their First Party developers and franchises. Not taking anything away from the other Big Two, but Sony Games Studios have made alot of my favorite games of all time.

If this is supposed to be the flagship then MS game studios has no chance of competing on the same level that sony competes on.

Fanboy aside PS5 is looking really good right about now and Xbox tho it may not look good as the PS5 right now, seems to have a good potential to be a way better system then the Xbox one.

If I wasn’t getting a PC I’ll probably buy both system.

There is absolutely zero proof that XSS is holding back this coming generation. There is also no proof that it won't hold back the generation.

At this point Microsoft has stated what developers need to do.... and that is, "Build for XSX, and then just downscale the resolution to 1440p for XSS". We will see if this is true or not when real nextgen games start to be developed and real developer comments start to come out. I did see a article about developersbeing concerned, There is a difference between concern and actual development.

Interesting that you quoted me, and decided to not included "why does it seem", that part alone is a disclaimer that I don't think all PC people are.
This article is about someone going from one console to another console. And show me where I said they should be excluded, I simply questioned why the need. Why do you feel need to clearly not pay attention to my words, and argue items that were never brought up? Ooops, you will probably interrupt that as me saying you have to be excluded.

Actually I never owned a gaming pc and was interested in awhile. I’m moving to a new house and was dedicating one room for gaming so I said why not

Gaming is my hobby but I think it’s a waste to buy both console and a gaming PC when all three has similarities.

Good for you! I am one of those people who don't believe in going cheap as well, I believe in getting all you can when you can. I plan on getting both, but also in the market for a new computer for photo/video editing. I enjoy Macs, but trying to wait and see the impact of new Apple Silicon on the 16 inch Macbook Pro.

Fanboys aside neither console is worth getting this holiday.

There is only one truly exclusive first party game shipping on either console this holiday... Destruction All-Stars. A title with next to zero gameplay shown to date and next to no one is bragging that PS5 has.

Demon Souls is not an exclusive. You can buy it for PS3
Spider-man and Sackboy are on PS4 as well
Playroom is a demo.... A neat demo, but a demo

On the Microsoft side things are even worse because the highlight from first party is Gears Tactics. A game you can get for XBO and PC as well.

I will get the new consoles. Not until thee is a decent next gen game library though.

I’ve had a PS4 this gen and I’m switching to Xbox. Nothing wrong with the PS5, just think Xbox will be a better investment in the long run with their investment in 1st party studios and game pass.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your PS4 gaming experiences this generation, Jericho!

Game pass is one thing, and many may find real value in it, which is cool. Good for them.
In terms of Xbox being the better investment (which I know you said Gamepass included in this) but solely looking at it in the long run for Microsoft’s investment in 1st party studios, please don’t get your hopes up in that area.

Microsoft has much to prove, so much in that area, now more so than ever after that Halo Infinite failure of a showing. But that in itself would worry me, because that’s Xbox’s Flagship title. How a company would show so much little care in their big juggernaut of a game and (depending on the conversation had with 343) “It clearly needs more time in the oven. People won’t like this, but we can’t show it off right now. Keep working on it team, we believe you can do better, give them that push” unfortunately the public (rightfully so) had to initiate that push for change to happen, and now it’s a wait and see for that game. My point is, Microsoft bought up many many studios, but they don’t have the track record like Sony does, to produce quality hits again and again. That takes time of course, and failure does, will happen. But, Microsoft’s focus on new iPs as we’ve seen before isn’t that strong and if they don’t give freedom to their new studios to branch and create new experiences for gamers on Xbox that goes beyond racers and shooters, that’ll be a shame. Those new studios at Microsoft have so much to prove & I hope the talent their genuinely can learn, grow and do well and bring some great games to gamers going into Next gen on Xbox. But, it’s not a gamble I personally would be willing to take.

But, no hate on you for doing that. It’s your choice and game how you want to game. Just be mindful, this is Microsoft after all. I genuinely hope you have a great time if you do switch over to Xbox!

I’ve had a PS4 since launch because that was the more attractive console at the time for me (and many others to be fair). If I may, the only PS4 exclusives I bought this gen were Uncharted and Last of Us. I remember being super excited when Spidermen got announced, but by the time it released my interest had kind of gone.

I dunno, peoples tastes change, and as good as I'm sure the PS5 will be, it largely seems to be offering more of what the PS4 does. Not that there's anything wrong it with, but I feel that some people just want something different.

I think if I hadn't played most of the best games in PS4, the PS Plus instant game collection would be all the incentive I needed. 18 of the gen's best games, free, day one, including stonkers like God of War.

I'm actually pumped for it anyway, as I haven't played a bunch of them because despite reviews I wasn't sure they'd be my thing!

Everyone has their own reasons though, that's what makes us all different I guess.

Dude dont talk back. They have a ps4 and i got Ferrari.... Only someone with half a brain would do that. Going from a console with the best games to another that starts the next gen again without games. The problem of last gen. Something that only the genius Phil spencer could do. It Just make the choice of gamers easier. Spiderman or nothing. Demon souls or nothing. Thats why ps5 are selling out in minutes. The hype!

Most of the games I want for PS5 so far have been confirmed for PS4 and I expect more to follow. Xbox is backwards compatible with every xbox before and there is a long list of games from previous Xbox consoles that I want to play

Chicken not all previous games on all Xboxes run. It's only selected titles. You better check into that. They make it seem like you can pop in any Xbox OG or 360 disc you have and play it but this is not the case.

Their marketing on this (or maybe just the public opinion) is very misleading. I always though you could play everything and only recently found out that's not true.

Chicken, not “All” of your PlayStation Brethren will turn on you just because you in the end might go the other way and get an Xbox in this coming generation. For one, that’s silly to behave like that, and also, if their adults, they definitely should act like it and realize you’re your own person who wants to try out a different console. No big deal. It’s your money/your choice at the end of the day. You can always come back to PlayStation, because the doors always...and “It’s the place to play” that last bit was cheesy lol. Sorry. But honestly, do what you wanna do. No bad feelings on you for that at all.

Enjoy whichever console you want. That’s genuinely what I as a gamer want to see my fellow gamers doing, enjoying games like I do, no matter where we choose to play them!

Microsoft promised us Halo this year with trailers that looked better than Demon's Souls and Spider-Man.

Instead, we got the worst gameplay demo of a high-profile game in a generation that prompted a year long delay. And then Demon's Souls and Spider-Man blow it out of the water. Not to mention Ratchet. The God of War 2021 release. The console-exclusivity for FXVI.

By the time DS, SM:MM & Remastered, R&C, GOW2, and maybe even Horizon come out, Xbox will have maybe Halo, maybe Forza? Hellblade's engine isn't even done yet. Fable's team is still building. Initiative won't have something till 2022 at the earliest. There's Game Pass to tie Xbox fans over but PSN subscribers will have instant access to so many of PS4's best titles too.

And adaptive triggers. N4g users try to play this down claiming Xbox one already had that which is a lie it was rumble triggers not adaptive. Dual sense is clearly the number 1 controller out there can't wait to hear reviews from Eurogamer review games and not mention controller at all

Is there much point for you to upgrade your console before your monitor?

You cant do 4k and I am assuming your monitor is 60hz so you will be stuck with 60fps, thats the two main selling points for next gen and you wont be able to take advantage of either.

Even on a 1080p screen you will get massively upgraded visuals and it's clearly going to include upscaling which makes picture look even better.

I'm on a 1080p Sony CCD TV I play games at 1440p using and resolution upscale. Much better image quality was similar with my old os4pro using the upscale was brilliant

Monitor is an and freesync at 75 MHz in the gaming room. Have a 4k TV down stairs but game live streaming and video editing is fine at 1080P.

Some dude on Instagram on Sony's page was telling people to buy an Xbox Series S because it was just as powerful as the PS5 and $200 cheaper. I told him he was wrong and laid out the specs. He said yeah but the way it's configured it matches the PS5. Told me I was wrong and I needed to do my research. He thinks the S with 4 tera flops and 10GB of ram and half the bandwidth of the PS5 has some secret sauce to make it on par with the PS5. Some fanboys are so nuts. I think Sony and MS have some good machines they putting out and it's up to you what you like, but some people are just delusional!

Spiderman and god of war were the games of this generation. No doubting it. Looks like they are trying to pick up where they left off .

also when I say the best games on talking in terms of fun and not necessarily the best technically or groundbreaking new mechanics. Although they came close on that. The 'feel' of these games are excellent

I own both PS4 pro and Xbox one X along with everything else from PC gaming to switch. And though I play my Xbox more for multiplayer games, I would have to admit that this generation Xbox will lose many many fans due to the quality of content that will be coming forth from Sony Ps5 like in 1 year and a half to 2 years.

This next generation is truly going to give Sony the edge because there next gen exclusive IPs shine like no other time in history mark my words. ( There developers are godly ) Xbox X no doubt has a better user interface and maybe I would go as far as saying a better multiplayer system overall and easily the best back compatibility ever. But Sony is a Japanese company and as we know with the cars, everything that come from that region is quality in part because it's ingrained in their culture. I mean I love my xbox control but I can't deny the quality of the PS4 controls they are easily better. And Sony is already killing with exclusive Psvr content which will undoubtedly be the future of gaming in 10 years when the graphics don't look so washed out.

I'm still on the fence because I still need a ton of more Sony exclusives to come out of the gate. But seeing these demo like Racket, Demon souls, Spiderman, and so on and I'm feeling like I might get a huge sense of regret if I don't buy it this holiday season. Cause I know that Xbox one X is already a pretty capable toy. Even if I get 1080 exclusive next gen games on x no biggie. PS: huge Overwatch fan Master Rank DPS so don't feel like Im missing out with a new Xbox since I own Overwatch on PC, Switch---garbage, PS4pro and X. Is anyone else stuck in this tough predicament and don't tell me to buy both cause I lost that chance when I got married and started a family. LOL
