Well, this is certainly interesting. While Imagination Technologies itself isn't going any further than to say that it has signed a licensing deal with a "major international consumer electronics company," EETimes.com is reporting that the company in question is, in fact, Sony, and that the deal concerns Imagination's PowerVR architecture being used in the successor to the PSP. More specifically, according to EETimes' unnamed sources, the PSP 2 will be using Imagination's SGX55x core, which itself, of course, still hasn't been officially announced either. As EETimes notes, if that turns out to be the case, it would certainly be quite the coup for Imagination, especially considering that its PowerVR MBX technology has already found its way into the iPhone, among other devices.

It's a step forward for Stop Killing Games.
we all kinda know that psp2 is in the works, cause that would be foolish of sony not to think about the future.
You dont / wont hear about it because, why would sony be like "We are releasing PSP2 so dont buy the current psp"
PSP2 well this im definitely getting but i hope they have 2 analog sticks for fps games
would be nice. I love my apple products.
2 imac's and a mini mac at home. 2 ipods (mine and my sons). 1 pc with no keyboard connected to my tv (i use it for torrents). 2 psp's. (one for me and one for my son)
i could add cards to music etc (android phones use cards as well).
The PSP needs a boost. but i dont think they should try to take on the iPhone. they might be do a better job taking over the sidekick market.
__
Sony needs to be careful. they make some of the best hardware known to us. but their penetration..
heh.. i said penetration..
is lacking mainly due to marketing and understanding of the needs of the consumer. (all around as i am a 3 time ps3 purchaser and soon to be four time)
if they can devour the sidekick community, they can hold market share with gaming device and phone while those new users grow up and become future high price device shoppers.
of all this lame touch technology. The only thing interesting as of late was that Microsoft demo (I forget the name)
I think its called touch, LOL (could be wrong)
Just my opinion. I know it amounts to nothing, LOL. I hate the tilt crap in the iphone also. just doesn't work right.
If this were to happen, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
