Xbox All Access Is Deeply Confusing, but I Think I Figured It Out

Xbox All Access is a relativity new program from Microsoft that lets you make monthly payments on a new console over the course of two years. It started in 2018, after the release of the Xbox One, and it’s coming back again for the next generation of consoles. If you’ve ever made monthly payments on a new phone, deep cleaning on your teeth, or Disneyland annual pass, then you probably already have a good idea of how this works.

Bro how tf is this confusing

😑 lol people these will say anything for clicks. I think ms need to start banning these sites that spread dud on purpose.

24 months of UGP is $360 so that’s msrp. You can save by finding deals on UGP, and often you can find them almost half off.

Financing is nice but the the item is cheap, it’s only $500. I think saving on UGP on your own is better and you can also decide to just get GP or cancel it if you know your gonna be playing a retail game for that timeframe.

The financing is no interest in the US and the $25 a month gives you a discount on the total cost including service from what I hear. I'm getting the XSX bundle because it's only $10 more a month and gives me an excuse to buy a 4k TV. 😉

Alright so the difference is the $60. On this financing with no interest is you get a $60 off the msrp. I believe I can find UGP for less than $300 in two years on cdkeys. They’re often 33% off.

Yeah confusing if your not used to paying your own bills. It’s a mobile phone contract how is it hard to understand. Only thing I wouldn’t be sure on is the situation and it’ll happen of when they drop the price within 2 years as it’ll happen. Will they drop everyone’s monthly charges. Nah. No thanks.

0% APR for 24 months... it's not that hard to figure out that at the end of the time frame the SX will cost $840 and the SS will cost $600. For anyone who decides not to partake of that will end up paying $860 and $660 for the exact same things (if purchased separately at the current market price). You actually save a little bit by financing, which is odd considering that financing usually costs more over time.

Now, unless the prices of each drop significantly during that time... this is a hell of a deal. I'm going to try my hand at financing the SX and just pay for the SS. That two years of GPU will stack on my existing time and I will be covered for three+ years of new games.

With the amount of deals that MS offers for gamepass. Paying for the system upfront and just paying for game pass ultimate monthly or finding a year subscription for half off during the holidays would come out cheaper over the 2 years if you put the effort into looking for the deals to have long term savings.

The concern trolling is out of this world. Everything is confusing when it comes to Xbox because they want it to be. People have gone through the same things with other products decades before with no issue but when it comes to Xbox you’re puzzled. Gtfoh.

It is and has been of the chain for the last years. Xbox gives options to consumers.
-Whaat?! Now I have to think? With my head brain? I cannot condone this...

Here's what i'm wondering here. Are these always online? Becuase i dont see anyway to stop someone just paying the first month and just keeping the system unless it requires an online check in every so often allowing them to brick your console if you don't pay the bill or check in. Otherwise they'll have a tone of stolen xboxes out there just staying offline.

Just curious how they're going to handle that

Atom6662086d ago

It's just a typical line of credit agreement. You can take the console home and burn it for all they care.

If you don't pay on time, you'll get hit with a late fee. If you stop paying altogether, you'll be responsible for the balance. They have your SS#, so your gamertag doesn't matter to anyone.

Whichever lender is handling these deals will decide what to do from there. I'm guessing there's a nice arbitration agreement in the terms that you "may" opt out of.

Each agreement isn't worth that much though. So I'm guessing those in default will just get written off as bad debt and they'll screw up your credit report for the next few years.

Their power is in your credit rating. Mess that up and it can be hard to get certain jobs or money for anything else you want to buy.

DEEHULK882086d ago

There is nothing DEEPLY confusing about it and I think that you just wanted to get some clicks.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing29d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9229d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit29d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing29d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9229d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
