Devastating disasters like this could come in more mundane forms as well. Maybe your parents turn off your service or you are going on a trip to a remote, Wi-Fi-less destination.

The last thing Microsoft needs is to enrage the PlayStation community and have them boycott Microsoft games releases on PlayStation
See, this is part of what I think is a problem in gaming with "Hardcore" fans.... because of what MS may say that "Sony" gamers might not like, they would deny themselves a game that they wanna play?
That may be the problem, we put BS, made up slights, before being actually gamers.
I mean, I haven't bought any Microsoft game on PlayStation since they started porting their games over. Most of that comes from a major lack of trust in them as a company. Microsoft only ever does moves to hurt the competition so they can ultimately dominate. They are certainly not hurting for cash. Their end goal is to move the goal posts so that everyone is using their cloud servers but that isn't enough for Microsoft, they want to have the cloud servers and be the entertainment company on top of that.
