If its quality content then yeah, I believe the older games did this too, all depends on what's being made and what the prices end up being.

All MS flight simulators from the past do this, as well as the competition (X-Plane). Check out the easy allies podcasts as they had a real pilot on there. He didn't even flinch when asked about the add on costs. That's standard practice across flight simulators. If it wasn't, they would have to charge $300-500 for the game.

Its cool third partys can beef the game up and make money from it at the same time, like I say, just has to be worth it.

Can’t wait til this comes out on Xbox, going to be a blast playing with my kids, especially during covid. Would be better if this came with the game but sometimes massive dev costs need to be recouped and it’s not like the game held the content completely behind a paywall, we can still see the ai versions of the airports and people with either Xbox or pc have access to the same content options.
