However; this does not contribute towards the future medical science of mankind in a mass co-ordinated manner.

Sony is desperate to get people to buy more PS3s, so they tell you to leave your PS3 on all night with the scapegoat of 'it helps fight cancer'. Unfortunately by then its too late, your PS3 has been on so long that it has got multiple errors, including (but not limited to) the Yellow light of death, (fried harddrive), broken fan issues, PS3 freezing, etc.

Its just like with the PS2. With the fat PS2, the laser conveniently stopped working just weeks after the warrenty expired for everyone. So they went and bought another PS2, so technically when you PStards try to brag about "omg ps2 100mil+ sold", its actually about half that because it was the same people buying a PS2 TWICE. Luckily some of us were smart enough to get the superior console of last gen, the Microsoft XBOX.

So go ahead, pat yourself on the back for folding at home, but don't come crying to me (or sony for that matter) once your PS3 breaks down.

@ GiantEnemyLobster

And you think that same logic doesn't apply to the 360? How many of the 360's current sales are directly due to customers re-buying a 360 system after the RRoD, disk scratching, "one light of death", AV cable errors, or one of the many other hardware failures and glitches not covered by warranty?

Cancer research is a scam? Congratulations you have reached an unbelievable level of complete and utter idiocy.

Magic_The_Celt6395d ago

wtf does that have to do with anything?

GiantEnemyLobster6395d ago

They DON'T count as sales stupid, they get a free one direct from MS since its still under warranty, idiot. Unfortunately Sony had a pathetic warranty system since they couldn't afford to be replacing all those broken PS2s.

Have you SEEN what a decent GPU can do now?
I dont want to hear another WORD about folding @ home. ITS BS.
Its not saving anyone. WE HAVE SUPER COMPUTERS WITH AMAZING GPU RACKS INSIDE THEM.
They can shut down power in small countries---and these are just the privately owned SUPER COMPUTERS. And you kids wanna talk about FOLDING? HAHAHAHAHAHA thats sad.
Cancer Research.....right right....lol.

Anyway, this was supposed to be a 360 related article. Come back when your PS3 does something similar. Which could be a while. Delays seem to be the norm for anything Sony related.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
