He probably wanted to mention the xbox hardware to maintain credibility. It’s very obvious by now that the minor tflop difference between xbsx & ps5 won’t ever be noticeable. It just won’t. When the differences are that minuscule it’s going to be up to the devs to use their talent in tandem with the hardware to bring out realistic visuals. Same way as it was this and last gen. God of War for example used amazing wizardry to push the envelope of the PS4. It will stand tall visually with a lot of PS5 games guaranteed. Open world games and systems driven games (rpg’s) will benefit the most from the new consoles.

Now the speed of the consoles, will absolutely be noticeable. And it’s up to the gamer to decide how many seconds faster/slower it matters to them. Ultimately the difference maker for each console is going to come down to games, unique interface/os features, and creativity.

In my honest and professional opinion, Sony should have London Studio revamp PSHome and turn it into something similar yet more efficient. Will make them potentially hundreds of millions and can turn it into a space where gamers can jump in from the ps startup screen and have a “sims” like space where gamers can showcase their properties, houses, and ps products. Would be a win-win for Sony and gamers. Put London Studio back to good use.

We are going to see games on ps5 that no matter what graphics downgrade you do the game will simply run in an unplayable manner in xbox series x.

Better read it again. «is still a stronger system in many ways». Not much more powerfull system. There isnt nothing much stronger on the Series X compared to the PS5. Because much stronger means 40%, 50% and 60% diference to the PS5.

Where there is a 60% diference is in the combo SSD/I/O of the PS5 compared to the Series X.

Its easy. XSX with more brute power. PS5 with more sophisticated solution with litlle less power. So there is no absolute winner. And its also not about being winner at all. Both consoles will have great games in terms of graphical and audio fidelity.

I also think that XSX power advantage will be little bit lowered due to more software layers. Sony is known for its effective low level api and better development tools. Still think XSX will be little better for multiplats. But if developer will optimize for PS5 lot, they can achieve very good results.

That guy ( according to his post history on ERA ) said that XSX will be more powerful than PS5, among others insiders.

The way to look at it is in certain situation the ps5 will outperform the series x and in some the series x will out perform ps5. The whole design of ps5 is designed around the ssd and fast I /O through put which takes a huge amount of work away from the gpu and cpu, allowing more resources for better effects etc, the series x no matter which way you cut is has a more powerful Compute power , if you look at the math of the diff between them the series X is around 20 percent that’s not huge but it’s considerable because TFlops next gen are way more advanced . Sony has the best developers in the industry it’s no contest look at the latest on current gen I have both pro and x and the latest exclusive games on PS4 pro are way better than Any Xbox one exclusives this gen and that was a 40 percent advantage on the gpu but also more memory too. Imagine what Sony’s first party developers will do with the power of the ps5 not to mention they will be ps5 only so they won’t be constrained by current gen where as Xbox are cross gen. it all comes down to the games Sonyslave3 just follow them don’t get lost on the numbers there won’t be a huge diff in ether end at the end of the day maybe resolution here and there but I know Sony’s exclusives will be unmatched I hope Microsoft brings there game next gen as they really let the customers down this gen . I am fortunate enough to prob buy both but I need to see the games Microsoft are bringing so far I haven’t seen anything from ether yet that warrants a purchase but I have a trust with Sony where I know I will get great games if I buy it but with Microsoft I just don’t have that.

Metrics of power / speed are one thing to show, capability is another. Sounds like PS5 is touting an overall better bus system, meaning not faster chip speeds, but still faster results. All sounds good, but want to see more proof from sources like digital foundry.

But he did say that the PURE I/O speed of the PS5 is light years ahead of anything else out.

Any spec where Vendor 1 Spec A is greater then Vendor 2 Spec A; by any more then 10% will allow it to differentiate in some way typically.

PS5 will have dramatic differences in load times. 5 seconds on XSX will probably take 1 second on PS5. And that will allow them to do things. I have yet to hear a single thing that is going to substantially change gameplay on PS5's faster SSD though.

Yeah, We want consoles to play games, only developers should care what's underneath the hood of a console. Because they will deliver us amazing games, it's promising and inspiring to hear, that PS5 will be innovative.
Imo i don't want next gen just be bigger numbers, i want new tech, new boundaries to be broken and new era of video games to be born (PS1).
Once we see games, the wait will be even more painful ;c for the console reveal/price/and launch date.

having a unique ssd-based architecture does not make it faster or more powerful. Xsx still has a higher configuration.
