The classic turn-based Final Fantasy VII got a makeover. Which style of RPG is better: turn-based or action? Here's a breakdown.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Turn based is my still favourite kind of RPG to this day. Dragon Warrior was the first turned based game I ever played. Even though I sucked at the game I was hooked.
Neither, I like both as much as the other.
Why does one have to be better than the other? When done well, both are super fun.
It's just a preference thing, i dont like turn based, doesn't mean i think action RPGs are inherently better. I get why people like it, just doesn't naturally invoke "fun" for me personally. BTW Y's IX is killing me to wait for.
Better is subjective. Action probably feels more modern but I think turn based offers more tactical depth. FF15 had really fun combat however Persona 5 had some of the coolest and stylish looking combat seen in a JRPG. I enjoy both equally.
