id Software - An open letter to the incredible DOOM community.
QuakeCon 2025 is officially underway, with the largest LAN party in North America also being the place for exciting news for id Software titles. From the return of a keystone franchise in the FPS genre to updates for DOOM: The Dark Ages, DOOM Eternal and more.

TNS: "ADHD can be a rather depilating mental disorder, but I've learned to cope with it by always having these games on hand."
For me it's always been fighting games like SF, Tekken, GG etc.. it really gets my mental stack flowing and forced to take a thinking approach as opposed to playing brain dead.

Everyone should be ready to shoot their way through humans and demons by reading about the best FPS games on the PS4.
Hmmm. Seems in depth, and they are blaming Mick 100%
I'd rather wait to hear his in depth side of things before making a decision, what he's said before were just off topic comments that didn't really dwell into it as much. Maybe the fault lies somewhere in the middle, Bethesda has not given me a reason in a long time to trust them all the way, first time round.
Bit of a grey area
Knee jerk reactions from gamers who only heard one side of the story? There's a lot of that going around.
Marty seems like he's telling the truth here but I can't see a company like id especially if its owned by a company like Bethesda giving Mick THAT much creative freedom to extend deadlines multiple times like that.
This is gutting, seems like Mick wanted to take his time but the fact that the soundtrack was included in the CE meant he couldn't do that and id was in a tough position either face financial losses or put out something.
We know Mick likes to take his time with the soundtracks he does DOOM 2016's came out 4 months after the game.
They really should have discussed what having the soundtrack in the CE meant with Mick Gordon before committing to it or just given us a rough cut, then gave us the final product mixed by Mick layer down the line.
As it stands there is no villain to blame just a mess of contractual obligations, I understand why he would be upset that we blamed Bethesda/id but you can't do shitty things for nearly 2 years and expect the benefit of the doubt...
I found this open-letter to be a bit unnecessary and unprofessional in terms of how much detail it divulged. Marty should have kept it brief -- no more than paragraph 5. As someone who contracts well-known artists, I feel like NOBODY would EVER want to work with me again if they knew I had a reputation of slandering my collaborators.
